• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... 14.10 update (November 2020) now available

So we can now swap the volume and tune knobs but they can't fix the track skip switch on the steering wheel?

I just really can't wrap my head around some of these changes. How do you think making the homescreen completely useless is a good idea? And at least maybe link the color scheme to the ambient lights rather than consistently neon purple.

Anyone know if the ability to change your XM radio preset order was restored or are we still forced into only numerical ordering?

I haven’t done it yet but im guessing it’s gone. They took that feature away 2 or maybe 3 updates ago. I don’t see it in the release notes , so most likely it’s not back.

Yeah. I'm guessing not but taking it away was also not in the release notes when I did that update.

I did the update to my 2021 Telluride Monday. I should have waited. It is not simply a map/navigation update. The old interface triple split screen, which I really liked, is gone. There are profiles and a new screen that the display goes to. You have to tap the screen to get to the radio or weather information. My radio screen looks exactly like the picture above. You can select the screen to be split but it only adds one additional item like the map or the weather. The radio remains and I have not found out how to change the view or if it is possible to do so. I am still learning about the new interface. As Telluride owners know, the car is very complex and has immense capabilities but it has a substantial learning curve...at least for me. When things get changed and the documentation is not step by step, it takes a lot of time to go through everything again.

When I did the update, my system flipped to kilometers and liters rather than miles and gallons. I got information on how to correct it yesterday but had to wait a few days. Customer Service was unaware of the update when I called them on Monday so they could not help me. That is why I was referred to Mapnsoft. They requested a lot of information and pictures on the model, etc and they are looking at the information I sent them in their lab. I do know that you cannot roll back the update if you decide you don't like it.

All in all, I wish I would have waited. I have sent feedback to Mapnsoft. I don't know if it will have any impact.

The change to Kilometers and Liters just happened to me. How do I get in touch with Mapnsoft? Thanks!

So lovely to be greeted with a "I told you so" comment after asking a legitimate question. You must be a really nice guy!

Hey, I provided your answer with how to change from kilometers back to miles.

I help people on here and on Facebook every day, mostly with their technology-related questions. I think you can see that looking through my hundreds of responses over time.

I will continue to stand by my previous response… all of the information about these most recent updates is out there. And it’s been pretty much five months now that 14.10 has been available for Tellurides (15.0 is visually no different). If you don’t like how it looks, that’s fine. If you don’t like certain things about it, that’s fine. But you had that info before you updated, so you knew what you were getting into. And if you didn’t research it before you updated blindly, then I place even more blame on you.

I appreciate your help, but, to be clear, my original post was a question was not a complaint. I only asked how they reached the entity for guidance. Have a good day.

I empathize with you @bruesjoh04. If I had 17 pages worth of responses blaming Kia/Mapnsoft for making owners upgrade to a new UVO interface they hated and wish they had known more before installing, I’d probably go crazy or have to block my own thread from my feed.

Im confused. This was a pretty simple map update compared to the major update done last year. Last Novembers update is when they removed the 3 split screen mode and changed many other things.... Kias software creator even asked us back in January if we wanted the 3 way split screen back- but I dont think enough people responded for them to even consider it. If you really want it back (along with a better SiriusXM radio) then respond here:

I don't think they care about our feedback. They have 12 pages of complaints in that survey, on top of complaints everywhere else they could possibly consider looking (reddit, youtube, here, etc). IMHO, if the infotainment system is important to you then the best thing you can do is vote with your wallet. Personally speaking, I'll be replacing another car in the next year and I'm pretty sure I won't be paying for a childish purple vacuum tube radio screen. That's just me, and I know that everyone has different values when it comes to purchasing decisions.

I got my Telluride in late November of last year. I got no notification of any update until last week. I believe the update that I did recently included the substantial update from November which is why it was such a big change and took a long time. It was not a simple map update. There were 5 pieces to it. I was not asked about keeping the 3 way split screen. but I would have responded to keep it. The new interface is a downgrade to me as others have mentioned.

For mine - 5 parts twice!
Let me list the timings I recorded:
9:47 update 5.001
9:48 part 1/5
10:03 part 2/5
10:11 part 3/5
10:13 part 4/5
10:13 part 5/5
10:15 restart
10:17 update 6.001
10:17 preparing
10:29 part 1/5
10:45 part 2/5
10:54 part 3/5
10:55 part 4/5
10:55 part 5/5
10:59 restart
11:03 started
11:10 completed

Pros:
I like the new interface.
User Profiles
Radio pages/scrolling through channels is better
New Climate settings
Premium sound options - however I only have the EX sound - which sounds great for an auto with all the external noises that come with that.
Stereo sounds better
HD radio sounds great
Weather details are better
MAPS! Huge improvement on Nav controls and appearance. This might rival CarPlay maps with traffic.
CarPlay apple news - will play radio commentary of news stories on stereo.
Split screen works well enough - left side is large side and right side is small to scroll through. If the screen were wider/larger , the 3 level split screen makes more sense.

Cons
The purple color should be customizable.
The radio vacuum tubes are sort of goofy, but no big deal.
Radio vacuum tubes should just be album cover info if desired or some customizable space
Apple CarPlay Waze is not displaying properly - could be my iphone issue. The other maps display well - apple / google.

Does anyone else have an issue with their Android Auto freezing up particularly after making or receiving a phone call.

I have a 2020 SX/P and with the latest version of the infotainment software loaded it is happening just by itself intermittently but also after making or receiving a phone call.
Many times when I have an incoming call I can't even select the yes or no from the screen to take or deny the call as it is frozen. The only way to answer the call is to use the steering wheel controls.
I had a Samsung Note 9 it was doing it on that phone so I waited till I just recently upgraded to a Samsung S21 Ultra and the same thing is occuring. Also happens with my wife's phone too which is also an S21 Ultra. I even tried different cables and it still occurs.

My wife has Android Auto in her Nissan Altima and it works fine with the same phones.

Curious if this is happening or has happened to anyone else and if there's a fix.
I'm on a long hold now waiting to speak with someone from the UVO support team.

The bulb numbers are a joke, they're should be a toggle to make it look normal

I think they should implement theme support, including a collection of themes that users can select depending on the styling they prefer. Hopefully it would include a theme that doesn't look quite as childish and dated as the current one. The vacuum tubes are an insult to people who spent real money on this truck.

The good news is that we only have about 2 more months until the next update, when all of this will be fixed. Surely they're not just wasting our time by requesting our feedback on the Mapnsoft forum, right? ;)
