Oh oh..! I sold my car last week in the anticipation to pick this one up on the 11th. Any idea what is causing these delays?

Nothing official but could be lack of drivers, certain port installed options not readily available.

I think my last update for you was the 19th... several people seeing the same thing happen..

Called the dealer NC044, and found out the Buyer's Order document they gave me on 8/13/21 had a place holder VIN number so that the deal could hold a place in their inventory for the Telluride that I ordered. Doesn't sound like a good practice to me. So I don't have a VIN number yet. I ask them about my order and they did not have any info and could not tell me if it had been accepted by KFOS. A little frustrating but hopefully some info will become available soon. Thanks for checking Stephen, sorry to have you check the wrong number.

No need to apologize.. happy to help.. and happy that by you checking you could gather a little more insight on your order. Hopefully it will be accepted soon in KFOS and you will have an initial ETA from dealer.

Should we be concerned since it was 9/13 2 weeks ago? Lol. My friends are considering putting an order in instead of paying the ridiculous markup that the dealership here wants to put on it but now we are concerned about the chip shortage and that it could take longer than three months and they have a another baby coming in January and need the bigger vehicle.

You are not doing it correctly. There are many steps and many variables that determine how long an order from a dealer might take. Suggest reading this forum about KDealer and KFOS. But the big take-away is that failcat shows nothing until the VIN is created. The VIN is created when the vehicle goes in to paint. The dealer will have the VIN before it shows up in failcat.

I checked with the dealer and they said my Telly is at the port awaiting transport to their dealership. Based on that, it appears that 'Dealer Stock' doesn't necessarily mean it's located at the dealership. In that case, I'm wondering if they have an actual shortage of drivers or the dealership is waiting for bids within their price range? @StephenCantrelle Are you seeing a new trend due to lower sales and lower margins?

I can only tell you that sometimes it happens, although rare, that Telluride shows in dealer stock but is not yet there. (maybe holiday effected). When this happens it usually shows a few days later... Other than that I can not comment on another dealers practice.. If someone has a Custom Order at my dealer we do not sell to highest bidder..
