Update: So far my experience with Montway has been so so. Initial customer service was great, and they assigned a dispatch company and trucker pretty quickly (so quick in fact that I pushed it out a week since I was gonna be out of town). Pick up was suppose to be Weds, 6/15 and delivery to me by Friday, 6/17. I was super impressed with that.
Pickup didn't happy until the next day Thurs, 6/16. No big deal for me as I assume I would get it today, Saturday, 6/18. With the Kia app, I was able to track the location of the vehicle and it was making good progress from CO to CA. Last night, it arrived in Sacramento, CA which is only 85 miles away from me. Looked like the driver stopped for the night. Being so close, I was excited and very confident I would be seeing the car today. Unfortunately, the car location has not moved since last night. I reached out to the dispatch company and driver all morning with no answer. The driver finally calls me back and says he can't deliver it until Monday. I couldn't understand his explanation - something about his logbook. The dispatch company finally texted back saying the same about the driver running out of time in his logbook, and requiring a 24 hour restart. I'm assuming this is related to driver laws regarding # of hours they can drive per week?
Needless to say, I'm disappointed. I made plans to receive the car and have to work Monday so need to figure out how to receive the car then. This logbook issue seems like something that should have been planned and accounted for? The 2 day estimate clearly was off. The thing is I don't even know if I can blame Montway since they are just using other companies to actually deliver. I can't be upset at the driver since he's working hard and can't legally drive anymore. I guess it's the dispatch company I can be upset at. Frustrating.
