• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... 2023 Kia Telluride Discussion

He is saying one year from the original order. But still, is a year from order what people are experiencing?
It seems to really depend on the dealer and the markup from MSRP. Dealers that sell at MSRP typically have a longer waiting list and take 6-12 months. Dealers with a large markup you may get it in 1-3 months.

Thanks for the replies. I guess I was sensing it was more around 9 months on average reading here, but I guess just have to readjust expectations!

I placed my order at the same dealership at the end of December '21. When my order was transitioned over to a 2023 a little over a week ago, the guy told me that I'm pretty far up on the list (I would hope so after all of this time) and that I should get it fairly soon but was not willing to provide a timeline.
Thanks for the reply. So I should be in theory about 3 months after you. Really interested in when you get yours!

It really varies by the dealership, your configuration, and luck.

Dealership:
Markup dealerships have a shorter or no waiting list. So you will get your car sooner. MSRP dealerships have a 9-12 months long waiting list.

Configuration:
If you order an SX-P and that's the majority of what ppl ordered before you, then it's very likely you will wait longer for an SX-P than an S.

Luck:
Ppl before you are most likely waiting for multiple orders from multiple dealerships. So, 400 ppl before you don't mean you will be the 400th to pick your car. How many ppl ordered same trim as you do will be a more reasonable way to estimate your waiting. Another thing. Ppl take delivery from another location, back out due to financial circumstance change, and all other reasons. I placed my S order in July and got a call in August to have a chance of buying an S Sangria (MSRP). My Wife didn't like that color so we decided to wait. If we took that offer, it would be less than 1 month of waiting.

My point is that no one knows the waiting time length, sometimes not even your dealership. Don't be too positive about the delivery date or blank promises. Otherwise, you will feel disappointed.

is it bad to reference failcat when talking to your dealer? i see a vin on failcat of exactly what i ordered, unfortunately plus rear seat entertainment. i want to ask about it but am not sure if there is a reason to not do so.

I just call my salesman and say "I see you have a vehicle coming in that matches my build. Is that one mine?" You don't even have to mention failcat if you don't want to.

Still waiting. I do see my dealer getting vehicles allocated to them, but not a SX-P X-Line.

Can you order a non xline/xpro S or EX with a towing package?

The towing package (hitch/harness + self leveling suspension) can be added only to the EX with captains chairs option, the SX, and SX-P.

The tow hitch and harness (by itself, no self leveling) can be added to any other Telluride (LX, S, EX with bench, X-Lines, X-Pros).

Depends on how many cars the dealership gets a month and what month they are currently delivering cars on.
Example: I ordered last December and my dealership is finally working on orders and delivering cars for that month just now. So hopefully I'll have my Telly by end of month they tell me. Originally I was told 8 months.

I've heard the same thing.

I am curious about this. (I'm not saying it isn't true, I have no idea), but I'm wondering why the corporation would reward dealers for attaching pretty huge markups. Do those dealers kick some of that largess back to KIA somehow? I thought I had heard that KIA was discouraging big markups. When I placed my order, there were 2/10 dealers I contacted who had little to no markup. One of the two had stopped taking orders. (I went with the other one). The other 8/10 dealers ranged from $5K to $10K markup. The markup dealers did not attempt to sell me on getting the vehicle quicker. Anyways, I'd have chose to wait either way, but is this "fast-track for markup" thing pretty established?

If window tinting is not listed on my sticker, does that mean it has none? Is there some kind of default on 2023? I have a 2023 EX coming and under Additional Equipment, all that is listed is $210 for carpeted floor mats and the Captain's chairs.

Is windows tint normally handled by the dealer? I am being charged a "make-ready fee" but I got grandfathered into the lower 2022 fee vs the $1900 the dealer charges for 2023s, so I'm not sure what I am getting.

Tint does not come from Kia Manufacturer. You can get it at Dealer.
Aren't the side passenger and rear windows tinted?

When people talk tint they are talking about the windows that don't have tint. G! you have to know something about the car you are buying.

Just the backs are tinted.
My understanding is the driver and front seat passenger windows never come with tint because it depends on the state you live in to determine how dark you can go. Some even get the other windows re-tinted darker after they get their vehicle.

It’s pretty standard but you should compare with higher end models. Manufacturers will install actual tinted glass for the rear windows only due to varying state laws regarding window tint. Some states will allow pretty much any glass including the windshield to be tinted to the point you can’t see inside while others will allow only a certain percentage and not the windshield. Dealers do not install tinted glass. They will apply plastic film to the windows to tint them.
