SX X-line timeline

I’ve been told SX X-lines have a longer wait time, is that correct? I ordered a SX Prestige X-line, Gravity Gray w/ black interior 10/27/2022. Not sure when the dealership ordered it as I can’t get a straight answer. I’m curious if anyone has ordered this trim and how long it took for Kia to accept the order, how long after that did you get a VIN number and how long after VIN was it delivered? The dealership told me 3-5 months. Thank you so much in advance!

I ordered a week earlier than you from a high volume dealer. I'm told the ETA for delivery to the dealer is 2/18, but have not yet received a VIN. I'm in Florida so the delivery time might be shorter than others.

Too many variables to determine. Stick with the timeline your dealer gave you. For comparison, a local dealer here is a solid 11+ months for any SX, although KIA is producing more this year im told so that wait time may decrease in time.

Those dealers who sell well above msrp might have a quicker turnaround just because there arent as many people who have already put down deposits. GL

I ordered mine on 9/29/22. The original information from Kia to the dealers indicated that about 13% of all Tellurides would be this trim. As of about 2 months ago, it seems like only 2% of all Tellurides built were this trim (my analysis via failcat). Definitely looks like it has picked up a bit since then. In any case I was third in line at my dealer to get this trim. While they did get a few allocations of this trim, it was never the color combination I requested. KFOS picked up one of these trims per month for this particular dealer. I got picked up on January 6th, via what I believe to be an allocation, rather than KFOS. My Telly was built yesterday and I received the VIN and window sticker from my dealer yesterday too (still not on failcat - serial numbers on failcat are greater than mine, but I assume my missing VIN will pop up on failcat in the next few days). My current ETA is 2/16 (but that has fluctuated a couple of days in either direction). I'm very excited!!! If your dealer communicates well and is reputable, trust the time frame they tell you. Mine has been and they've been very accurate. You can also go to failcat and see how many Telly's they get per month and how many SX-Prestige X-Lines they've gotten to date. That will give you some info/background on their volume.

I currently have a 2020 SX and love it but thought with what I could get with my trade in why not have a new X-Line! Thanks for the reply! Glad you really love it so much that you are getting another one. I’m coming off three consecutive leases of the Jeep Grand Cherokee. Overall this seems to have much more value and more features so I’m very excited about it. My wife just got the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee and honestly I’m not a big fan. Rides nice but has so many bugs with the electronics. Less than a month I should have my new baby!!!

I did find the exact model parked in the street when I was in Key West a month ago. Here are pics…

I’ve seen some pics show more of the blue tint. These pics don’t show that.

This is a pic that someone posted on Facebook I think. This really highlights the blueish tint. Looks too blue - but in person it doesn’t look that blue.

I ordered the exact same car as you, except with terracotta interior. The SX-x lines definitely seem to be limited production but gravity gray in general is super low. I think there are only 2 SX-p Xlines in Failcat right now that are gravity gray. Overall on all models even, gravity gray is super low volume. Weird. Anyway, I ordered in early November and have since heard nothing.

Thank you for your reply! Yes, I’ve noticed that, it’s very disappointing we don’t get what we ordered in the line they were ordered. My dealership NEVER mentioned allocations nor that they didn’t even order my Telluride the week they got my money. I don’t trust a word they say!!!

My car (gravity gray SX-P X-Line with terracotta) finally showed up in Failcat. I found it there first, called dealer thinking it was a long shot, and they confirmed it was my car. I ordered early November 2022, found in Failcat on Feb 1st, and ETA is March 3rd. Looking forward to its arrival. Upgrading from a Cadillac Escalade that has had problem after problem after problem.
