NFC key card?

Our 2023 X-Pro SXP did not come with the NFC key card. It’s something I would like to have but didn’t receive one. Some people that purchased after November 2022 got the card with their vehicles. Our dealer knows absolutely nothing about it. I contacted Kia and they seem to be oblivious. Kia told me it is the dealer’s responsibility. Yet the person at Kia never heard of the NFC card. Anyone have any information or is anyone using one? Not the digital key. Thanks in advance.

If you have an iPhone or Samsung - you can just use your phone. I set that up today - it's wonderful. If not, then you'll need the card. Just picked mine up yesterday, so it did come with the car. Sounds like the person at Kia corporate was clueless. You should call back again and share that dealer memo. Seems like it's up to Kia corporate to send the cards out as indicated, not the dealer.

It may also be helpful to reach out to other owners of the 2023 X-Pro SXP on online forums or social media groups to see if they have had a similar experience or have any advice on obtaining the key card.

Here's a post in Reddit from a guy with a 2023 Telluride. Although his has the NFC key card, there are issues.

I would love one on my Telluride, but sadly, it doesn't have one. If all I had to do is have my iPhone in my pocket to unlock and open a door, this would one of the top 5-6 features I would want on my next next car.

Here's a post in Reddit from a guy with a 2023 Telluride. Although his has the NFC key card, there are issues.

Their problem was they were not touching their phone or their key card to the correct part of the door handle. The only issue was user error, which was resolved once they understood what to do.

Also, note that you can’t just leave your phone (or digital key card) in your pocket to have the digital key function work. You have to physically touch it to the door to lock or unlock, and you have to place it in the wireless charger to be able to start the car.

Telluride SX prestige 2023 I have a NFC Card KEY but I have tried and the Kia Service guy has tried but we could not use it to open a locked car door or start car.Can anyone give me some guidance what to do?Is this something I could use to open door and start car instead of the FOB?

Check your owner's manual. It describes how to set up the Card Key and use it.

Once set up, you should be able to lock/unlock the door by touching the card key on the door handle. You can also start the vehicle when you put the card key on the wireless charging pad.
