• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Went through the process for both my iPhone and the Key Card. Seemed to go very smoothly, until I go to use either of them. Nothing, can't even open the doors. Is this an NFC issue?

phone placement is slightly tricky on the handle. I've noticed with iPhone you have to have the back of the iPhone on the fixed part of the handle to get it to work.

Touch the NFC antenna on your phone or the NFC card to the NFC antenna on the car. It’s right in the middle of the door handle.

I think I touched ever single spot on the handle with the back of the phone and key...and then the front of the phone. I think I'm going to have to take it to the dealer tomorrow. I'm not a fan of the new key. My last Telluride had the older generation key...MUCH smaller and I could find the lock button in my pocket so easily. This new key is like carrying a giant stone in your pocket and that's why I'd really like to get my digital key working.

This might help:

"Where Is NFC on iPhone?

The position of the sensor differs from model to model. For some models, the exact position is difficult to determine.

For the recently released iPhones, you need to tilt your device towards the reader such that the top part of your iPhone faces the reader. In other words, you need to point the top of the phone at the reader, just like you point your remote at the TV when you want to change the channel or increase the volume. This means that the NFC on these models is at the top of the phone.

Meanwhile, in older models, the NFC is somewhere at the back. It can be either in the upper or lower portions or even in the center. It will take a bit of experimentation to find the exact position of the NFC on the phone, but if you’ve ever used Apple Pay on your phone, then the same angle that you paid with should also work for NFC tags. "

IT WORKED! Thank you.

Ok I have to ask, how the heck did you get a Keycard? My dealer has no idea about it. Kia 800 is... useless. Everytime I call there's a 4 hour wait, and they tell me they'll call back and don't. Another local dealer has no clue.

PLZ TEACH ME YOUR MAGIC

It was tucked in my 2023 Owners Manual.

is your card key working?
Mine has no response either on door hand or NFC reader..
Did you actually set up the key card? It’s not going to do anything until then.

How did you set it up?
I checked from the vehicle setting menu but nothing happens..
Is there anything I need to do within the Kia connect app?

The instructions are in your manual, at page 4-16 in the 2023 version. You’ll need both of your key fobs in the car to set it up.

This didn't work for me. I followed the instructions explicitly (including both key fobs in car) and the key card - when held close to target - has no response whatsoever on opening the driver's door or starting the car.
Help!

My key card and digital key work. super convenient when out cycling/running

Help!
1. Bring in two key fobs.
2. Place the key card on the charging pad.
3. Push start
4. Go to setting --> vehicle --> key card (?) anyway.. and follow the instruction on the cluster.
5. You are all set.

Here's tricky part.
You need to touch your card key in the center of the door handle to unlock and lock the door. Not near the where you place your finger when locking the door.
See if this works.
Then place the key card on the charging pad to see if you can start the car from there.
This worked for me.

Thanks - I'll give her a try today

Thanks Tube - turns out I had the card programmed, I just wasn't deploying it properly. I was trying to start the car by holding the key card up next to the starter button. DUH - not sure where I came up with that?? (Talk about not following written instructions!) After that, I tried the door handle but didn't spend much time with it and gave up. Anyway, it all works great - both engine starting and locking/unlocking the door. Adding this to my wallet as an emergency backup - or maybe there will be times when I just don't feel like grabbing the key fob. It's grown twice the size of what they used to be.
