If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Anyone buy an extended warranty on the Telluride?

I will say that I was tempted to buy an extended warranty. I might still yet. This is my first Kia, and this Telluride is in its first year (even though the parts may be tried and true). It's got a lot of bells and whistles that I don't have experience with. Nonetheless, I doubt that I'll end up buying the extended warranty. The reliability of this Telluride and how the cost of ownership goes will influence whether I buy another Kia in the future.

I remember getting the first Honda Accord with a navigation screen. Sales people talked about the risk of the electronics going bad as this was the first time Honda put one in. My thinking then was basically the same. I assume Honda will have made a competent product and that it would not break. 15+ years later, I still have it and I've had maybe 2 issues with the navigation screen.
We sell the warranty at a discount. If you need, email me jfox@kiaofmuncie.com

The point is: unless you turn out to be the one in several hundred purchasers who happens to still have the vehicle when your original factory warranties expire and then happen to actually have a failure that is covered by the service plan while it is in effect - extended service contracts are a waste of money. These contracts are heavily leveraged to make others wealthy off of your fears.
Unless your electronics crap out after 36,000 miles. Why buy house insurance? Car insurance? Life insurance? This is the first time I've purchased an extended warranty. It just made sense to me for this vehicle. New model, lots of electronics, crappy 36,000 mile electronic warranty.

Well, I suppose, its silly if you have nobody to think of except yourself.
If i die, the fact that I purchased an extended warranty for my wife's Kia will not affect my kids in the least. Wicked Silly. "sorry kids, your dad bought the extended warranty and left nothing for you" 😂

My rule of thumb is that I need two major failures to justify the warranty.

Failure 1 is break-even on extended warranty purchase price.
Failure 2 eats up the interest earnings of the extended warranty money being placed in some type of interest bearing account and might put me ahead of both of the failures are large enough.

I look at the big picture and don’t plan on two major failures with each vehicle I get so I do not get extended warranties.

I would be more interested in the extended warranty if it were through KIA. I'm not interested in 3rd party warranties.
We sell the KIA backed warranty.

Yea, the one we bought through Kia of Muncie is good at any Kia dealer although it is 3rd party.. I don't mind 3rd party if it's backed by the manufacturer and is accepted by them.

I bought the KIA Telluride SX about a month ago and the 10 year/100k bumper to bumper warranty mainly due to all the electronics on this car. If any of the electronics goes that means tearing the entire dashboard apart more than likely on top of the parts, etc. which will be extremely costly each time anything happens. The peace of mind to me was worth it at $3,999 from KIA of Irvine however, it sounds like I may have been taken to the cleaners on the amount charged based on some of these other posts.

Seriously cancel this warranty purchase immediately and purchase from Jason Fox.

The dealership I worked with offered what is basically your top plan for $1900 or $1999 (can't remember exactly because I knew it was higher than yours).

Definitely. And that's how Kia of Irvine can claim to sell a vehicle "without markup!"

It looks like the provider is United Service Protection Corp in FL, AAGI of Florida, Inc. American Auto Guardian Inc. I am still gathering info. If anyone has heard of them, I would appreciate any feedback.

Google AAGI extended warranty complaints and you will find this:
