If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... It's so ridiculous how Kia is holding the telluride from being produced. Which keeps the demand high. I understand a month wait for a new vehicle but some people on here are saying 8 months they've been waiting! That's crazy; and you might as well just wait 1yr and get the next one by that point.

What would you like to see on the new ones? Here's what I'd like to see:

1. Dual side twin pipes
2. More GOT dang horsepower and torque! Better throttle response.
-at least for the SX model. 365hp would do just right :)
3. 1in more legroom in 3rd row seating, 2nd row seats that fold up as well so you have better access to 3rd row.
4. REAL AWD system
5. Bigger/better Infotainment
6. Headlights that turn with direction of steering wheel
7. LARGER glove compartment
8. Clearmotion Suspension
9. Ceramic Brakes
10. 20+ speaker Harman Kardon System with Better Subwoofer (Cadillac has 36 speaker system!)

I do realize these features may increase price--which may make the "reasonable" addendums justified.

otherwise

For heavens sake QUIT MARKING THEM UP! The manufacturer says MSPR then that's the MAX I'm paying. $10k-$15k markup is outrageous folks. Stop paying it.

Let's talk about it!

Dual exhaust they would have to find another place for the spare tire, Better throttle response you can buy buy a pedal commander.

I would like to see it come with it. And don’t want to buy a telluride and have to go pay for more upgrades. They have a design and engineering team. I’m sure they can include dual pipes if they wanted.

I thought the Telluride already has 3rd row AC ceiling vents. Please tell me they do. I ordered a Telluride after driving a Palisade, since I've yet to see a Telluride on the lot. Kia's site shows them when you view the interior.
Oh yeah. Ur right. I didn’t pay them any attention. I never have to sit back there

So there’s no changes anyone wants to see!? Got it 👌

From what I read they only planned to start the first year of Telluride production at 40,000 while building alongside the Sorento, then after the hype started bumped up to 60,000 and later to 100,000 reducing the number of American Sorentos manufactured. I don’t think Kia is purposefully holding back production. There is only so much you can grow the supply chain for parts before you can grow supply to meet demand. And if you grow manufacturing too quickly on a new production you risk compromising quality. I think demand is sucking up the supply, not the other way around.

Increasing your supply chain means you need to tell the parts suppliers you source from to make more before you can build, then you need to make sure your factory can still maintain the quality standards and may have to grow your workforce. I thought I read Kia added more night shifts to the West Point factory to ramp production. Plus you have to reassess what trim and features people are buying so you can make the right mix of colors, trims, and packages without alienating certain price points. That takes time. Throwing in a global pandemic can’t make it easier.

My production number is just north of 8,000 and I have a few minor recalls to deal with that the 2021s will never see. This has to factor in a little before you crank out 150,000 vehicles that you need to recall. Even though competition redesigned like the Highlander and Explorer, a redesign is still easier than a brand new vehicle. I think Kia USA knew they had a potential hit but the Borrego US sales of the past could have contributed to starting out more conservatively.

KT has 3rd ceiling vents control by either the 2nd row or driver. At least in the EX.

Same with the S. My son plays with the 3rd row ceiling vents all the time and I can hear a slight whistle of air when he doesn’t close them fully.

I heard the same. They just don't have anywhere to build more. I think that's the issue. I read that 100k is the max that they can produce from their factory.

They definitely aren't holding back production by choice. They'd love to sell one to everyone that walked in the door who wanted one. 100 out of 100 dealers would rather make a deal that day and send you home with a new car. It's not all about profit on the front end with new cars, aside from $ earned from service at a later date, dealers can earn significant bonuses based off of units sold.

Maybe you could just trade your Telly in for a 2021 Escalade?

Curve adaptive headlights are the only real thing I think they could improve with. Adding a tow mode drive option would be nice too. Everything else I was able to do myself aftermarket (or could) for cheaper or they are addressing in the 2021 updates. (At least on the S trim). I’m sure buyers of the LX would appreciate roof rails.

All I want for 2022 Telluride is the Hybrid powertrain that they are already producing for the new Kia Sorento in S. Korea. Of course Plug In Hybrid with 40 miles EV range will be perfect like the RAV 4 Prime but I know I am being too greedy here....

I don't think we will see a non-plugin Hybrid in 2022, they might just leave that in the Sorento lineup since they are already talking about certain markets getting a plugin hybrid Sorento in 2020. If they can get a slightly more powerful battery pack than the Niro EV then they can put out a Telluride EV that will qualify for the max in Electric Car Federal Tax Credits. If not all electric maybe a Hybrid EV (HEV) or plugin hybrid EV (PHEV) SUV still qualifies for some tax credits.

The 2020 Kia Niro EV puts out 201 hp and 291 lb-ft of torque on a 64 kWH battery with 239 mile range. (That's more torque than a Leaf or Bolt so Kia and Hyundai figured something out because the Niro and Kona are both larger than the Leaf and Bolt).

The 2021 Kia Telluride puts out 291 hp and 262 lb-ft of torque.

The 2021 Crossover SUV that Kia is advertising is already rumored to have an 80 kWH and 310 mile range.

According to this site Kia has a goal of 11 new EV models and selling 500,000 EVs by 2025.

But there is a shortage of batteries for everyone selling EVs that has delayed the US launch of the Soul EV.

5 years to kick out 500,000 EVs?? It ain't happening. They're already behind on the Telly. Which i'm sure will throw everything else off to.

When do you see things leveling out? With the amount of ppl and waitlists that dealers are claiming--it might take 3 or 4 years. But they def need to get it together. Or ppl will just go to the next new thing that comes out within that time.
