• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... the question is probably more to the Canadians, since the laws are different, but still:
where is it better to sue the Queen's Bench or to the automobile arbitration camvap?

And another question: I have never done this, but I think it will work, where, besides this forum, can I post information?

Kia Canada remains silent, trying to release everything on the brakes. Patience is over, on Friday I go to court.

2021sxp Issues within 3 weeks of ownership:
1. Vibration in the vehicle as soon as its hits 60mph
2. Rattling in captain chairs
3. Started happening just now, the front camera is flickering

It makes me sad because the 2020 sx model i owned had none of these problems and I wonder if kia is cutting corners to handle the demand.

TSB attached. Appears to be an issue with the coax cable terminals.
TSB just got posted for camera flicker.

Several of those defects are mm in size. While still defects nonetheless, I highly doubt any mainstream auto brand inspects details that tiny. I would even be surprised if luxury auto manufacturers looked for defects that small with their QC staff.

Also for the majority of the time you spend in your car, how often are you looking at those spots? I probably have defects in my SXP too, but I spend 100% of my time looking at the dash, center console, infotainment, and my wife and kid in the rearview. No time/interest to look for tiny nicks in the plastic/fabric. And at this point, impossible to tell if i caused them or the manufacturer did.
A defect is a defect on a 40-50k car

Ugh so sorry to hear this happening to someone else. I’ve also had vibration and camera flicker issues.

Did I claim it wasn’t a defect? I was simply stating majority of consumers don’t examine for defects that small in size, and I also doubted that manufactures are themselves looking for something that small.

A hairline scratch about 4 inches long or a broken plastic trim piece? Absolutely. But a nick the size of 2 grains of sand?

I could also argue you bought your house for well over 50K and you aren’t going to ask for a refund when you find out the sink faucet was installed 3mm offset from center.

Sorry about that. Have you taken any action so far ?

Yeah, lots of service appointments. check out my posts on these threads...

Long overdue update.

tl;dr - Tried a bunch of things, but I still have the vibration. UGH.

I got my vehicle back last Friday after being in service for 12 days. A lot of the time was spent waiting for responses from techline, and then waiting for parts to arrive. The three fixes that were tried were:
  1. New Driveshaft - did not solve the problem
  2. New AWD coupler - did not solve the problem
  3. New New AWD coupler - basically the same part as #2, but supposedly with a new "lot number" which was better/improved
The dealer felt the issue was resolved and gave me the car back, but upon driving it a few hundred miles at highway speed since then I'm still noticing the hum/vibration when I get to ~72mph

So at some point I'll need to give it back to them for another round of investigation and repair. Pretty frustrating experience that they can't figure out the issue and fix it.

At this point I am very much in a love/hate relationship with my Telluride. I love the experience at sub-highway speeds and still think it's better than anything the competition offers, but the sheer number of big and little issues I've had (including a camera flicker thing that is still not fixed) is getting frustrating and is not confidence inspiring for the long term.

I've explored lemon law and whether the above repairs counts as "3 failed attempts," but it seems that's a pretty generous interpretation that won't hold up. So for now it's back to the shop at some point to give it another attempt.

Have others taken in their Tellurides to get fixed per the TSB linked above? How did that work for you?

Mine went in a couple weeks ago and the dealership performed the fix described by the TSB. Everything worked fine for about a day, and now I'm still seeing the problem occur intermittently. It happens far less frequently which is great, but frequently enough that it's clear there's still a problem.

Back to the dealership it will go (in addition to the vibration problem I'm still dealing with).

Even with a perfect perfect perfect perfectly built car, such as a Rolls, you will end up with these small nicks here and there after only a few days of normal use. How do you plan to keep it spanking factory new? Not drive it? Who are you going to sue then?

Pick your fight wisely because not all fights are worth fighting.

I will disappoint you, but in my entire life I have had dozens of new cars and these were not Rolls Royces and Maybehs. Most of the Koreans and this is the first with such poor quality. I don't just buy new cars every 2 years, I don't want to see a shabby look. If an item is sold as new, it must be new and free from defects.

Finally!!!!
two months without a few days have passed.

" So everything is a green light – Kia Canada approved all your requests! "

What did they approve?
replacing everything listed in the first post and repairing the paintwork. and of course the bumper. Yes, there is a lot of work, I paused with the dealer for now. I'm thinking of doing repairs or trying to replace the car with a new one, but it is difficult to replace it in Canada, since there is no lemon law. Although there were applicants.

That is good. Shows they will stand by their product. Impressive from Kia.
