I know this oil consumption issue has been discussed here many times. I'm 2nd owner with certified warranty. Car had 26k when I bought it. As others have posted the dealer also wanted to do the oil consumption test. He told me they would have to do an oil change that I have to pay for first then for me to bring car back in 1,000 miles, same thing others were told. I just had oil changed 2k miles ago.Told him to forget it and I'll pick the car up. He seemed puzzled as he said Kia would most likely replace engine if an issue. Told him I don't want to go through all of that and I will just get rid of car and buy a different car, definitely NOT a Kia! I really feel stupid because I did my research on this car and did not see anything about oil consumption or wouldn't have bought it. Otherwise I'm happy with the car but this is unacceptable and deal breaker for me. This shouldn't happen to a $50K+ vehicle. Oh yea forgot one other thing, first time I went to change oil around 30k miles there was grease splattered everywhere, the rubber axle boot had broke and the grease was everywhere under bottom cover. Another thing that just should happen to a "high end" vehicle with low milage!!! Bottom line it's a piece of Korean crap! I will tell everyone I know to NOT buy Kia!
