I purchased this with 11 miles on it and this is the 2nd issue I've had with the drivetrain. The first being an significant shaking at highway speeds. After multiple visits to the dealership and them repeatedly telling me it was the tires, I found the solution on this forum (drive shaft). After I told them it was likely the drive shaft they "happened" to come to the same conclusion later that day! Happy to help.... my hourly rate is $100 ; ). A few weeks ago I noticed a decline in fuel economy a couple of weeks after noticing a new engine whine (moderately high pitched). The sound was about the same for a few weeks then my husband took it on an 800 mile road trip and returned it to me with a WAY WORSE whine. It's like it's staying geared down (it behaves like its in sport mode regardless of the mode). I called yesterday for an appt (they didn't have one for 3 weeks) then told me there is a new active recall on a drive belt. I asked them what would happen if it WAS the drive belt and it broke. She went to ask a technician and came back asking how soon I could get it in and to drive it as little as possible. This is my first new car and hate that I'm wishing I had just bought a used one like I usually do and drive it to 250-300K. I have a video of the sound if anyone would like me to email it to them (can't figure out how to attach it easily).

I have started noticing what I would call a whining noise with my 2022 S awd with 13k on it. more noticeable if I stay under 50mph as the road noise takes over and hides it.

if I am in park or neutral and rev the engine slightly, I can hear it too.
its tone changes with RPM level

I wondered if the whine was transmission, torque converter or perhaps alternator.

I have an appt Friday to have a few things checked, this sound being one.

The other issue is the incessant tapping of lifters/ valves at startup for about 1 min.
My parents ‘23 Palisade doesnt do that so why does mine???

are you able to send me your sound clip of the whining noise?
i am curious to know if its same/ similar to mine.

thx a bunch
Steven

what year is your Telly? I was planning on buying a 2023 Telly but have been hesitant and now reading lots of posts in this forum about problems with their 2022 0r 2023 Tellys. Have you had other problems too? Do you regret buying it? I now will be relooking at Toyota or Mazda but so love the design of the Telly.
