Hello,

Owner of a 2022 moss green - 3 "injuries" lately (1 door ding, 1 someone scratched it, 1 highway debris fallen from a truck in front of me hit my headlight):

1) right rear door dink (scratch+extremely small dent),
2) right front scratch, and
3) right headlight cover scuff.

I attached pictures.

What would be the best way to repair them? (paint pen? for the dent, anything simple? how about for the headlight lamp?)
Also, worried about rust setting in if I do not repair them (??)...

Thanks :)

The door ding, I’d suggest trying paintless dent repair. As long as the paint hasn’t been chipped they can restore it to original look. As for the scratch, paint pen would only make the scratch the same colour but you would still have an indentation.

We picked up a small scratch similar to your first picture on our 2020 moss green Telluride and over the winter it completely rusted, despite us regularly washing the car. We’re in Massachusetts, in case not obvious from my user name. If you live in the north and don’t want surface rust I’d suggest repairing it.

Thanks for the heads up, did you end up taking it to a body/collision repair place to get it fixed, and if so, how did it turn out? From what I've heard they will need to completely sand down the area and re-seal/re-paint, etc... and I am afraid after I will notice the difference! (that would just not be acceptable lol).

Or…. Do nothing and treat like first scuff on new sneakers - let’s you enjoy it more with less worrying.
I was doing that lol, but that one scratch in my first pic, it's to the metal and... don't want rust.

Agreed re: scratch to get it taken care of as it's down to the metal. You may want to ask the dealer what body shop they use. I'm sure the body shop will give you options. I suppose the least expensive fix is to treat the minor dent part of the scratch as a paintless dent repair and then apply a coat of touch up primer and then the paint via paint pen or brush via touch up bottle. It's not elegant but if the body shop will do it, the cost may be reasonable and would be less noticable (not totally) than if a lay person like me tried. They could also fix the ding while they are at it (I had a ding on my Benz and the dealer quoted me $95--I thought it was reasonable considering it was a Mercedes dealer). As far as the headlight, a body shop may be able to buff that out. Good luck
