Need to take it to a dealer
I am at the dealer now and they know nothing about this in the service department. They aren’t aware of any software update either. Still waiting for the problem to replicate for them and hear back. It’s not looking promising for a fix for me today. :cautious:

Confirmed my dealer doesn’t know about or have access to a software fix. They’ve escalated to Kia. Ho hum

I called my dealer, Clay Cooley Irving, they have my Telluride, they're unaware of any updates at this time. They are apparently running every possible test and informed me today that they'd like to keep it for as long as possible. I've got a base model Sorrento as a loaner, it's not impressive, but I think I could have gotten one for almost half what I paid for my Telluride. My bank sent my $740 first payment yesterday, I've gotten to use the vehicle for less than a week in the 4 weeks that I've owned it, and yes, that stings.

They released a bulletin yesterday for bluetooth memory issues. If your vehicle falls into the specific production range; this service action will be open on your warranty validation. Your dealership service dept can quickly run your warranty validation to verify. :)

The Bluetooth thing is obviously a royal pain for those afflicted, but I am honestly surprised by the amount of people who use built in navigation systems on here. Everyone I know uses Google's maps or waze instead as they tend to update and function better.
I guess you are not a T-Mobile subscriber. Nice to have a Nav fall back when the inevatible service drop occurs.

I'm a Tmobile subscriber, but my phone is typically smart enough to download the map when I start my navigation. I often will download offline maps too when I'm travelling in mountainous or desolate areas.

Have an appointment with my dealer Friday to fix (hopefully) this issue. According to my service appointment confirmation:

I will give an update after the service is performed.

It took about an hour and a half at the dealer this morning, and my phone is now syncing through Bluetooth exactly the way it is supposed to. Also, unlike what some others have reported here, the SiriusXM trial subscription was unaffected and continues to function normally.

I was in New York last week, the dealership has had my car since May 29th. They brought it to me this morning after I'd told them numerous times about this bulletin and software update/recall. Well I immediately added my phone and my home as a POI. An hour later I checked the vehicle and everything I added was gone. Mine is not fixed, I'm really fed up with this!

Oh and to top it off I dropped the vehicle off with less than 400 miles and now it's at almost 600! What the heck have they been doing?

Wonder if they even performed the update, or just said they did?
Also i'd call BS on the miles. Even if they replaced your engine they wouldn't have cause to put 200 miles on it. To bad you don't have some sort of tracker on it. Or some proof of the mileage when you dropped it off and picked it up. Bet they were driving it home at night, or letting customers test drive it. (I work for a dealership, and sales dept. keeps trying to let customers see mine due to lack of Tellys in stock rite now.)

For the record MY service dept guys are all very honest, and would never drive a customers car like that. Butttttt I have heard stories of dishonest shops in the past. Taking customers cars for the weekend, or overnight, ect.

Either way i'd call up the GM and pitch a fit!

Strap on your tin foil hat, then use the "My Trips" feature of the owners portal. You should be able to see when and where all those miles got put on.


Seems to be a bug in Chrome on that the web page but in the Access App on my phone it labels points A and B on the map.

Don’t the service techs record your mileage at drop off? Or did they and you didn’t notice the extra 200 til after you left? I’d be steaming!

Wait, did they claim to have performed the update? Did they document for you? They should have provided detailed work performed receipt. Maybe you are stuck with a lousy service dealer, unfortunately.
PS - my appointment to install the update is finally happening this Thursday. Hoping it WORKS!

Update from service tech at Clay Cooley, she said that they may take it out to test it. This is way above that! There was no need to test it over and over again only to deliver it to me not working! They have no Telluride's in stock right now, I know exactly what this was!

Wowwwww I would threaten to report them immediately and demand money off of your sale, free accessories, free service, etc. This is unbelievable that they would have that many random people in YOUR car. I honestly can't believe it. You have the evidence, take them down!

Unbelievable! You’ve got a solid case for reimbursement and everything else they can/should throw in. And, having formerly lived in DFW, I recall NBC 5 news I think has one of those segments on consumer affairs type matters? Maybe ask Clay Cooley if they’re familiar with THAT!
