Door locking issues on 2023

Just got my 2023 SXP X-pro and love it but I’m having issue with the door locks and I’m trying to determine if it’s user error or something wrong.

All works as expected with the key fob, but i’m not able to lock the doors from the inside without the fob in hand or in the car. For example, if I need to make multiple trips from the car into the house to bring things in and I take my purse with the fob in it into the house and try to use the door lock to lock up before finally going inside, nothing happens.

I’m also not able to get the digital key to work as a proximity key on my iPhone 12 or Apple Watch 6. Where is the RFID reader on the door? And do I need to have my hand on the handle while the key card is up in my Wallet and near the door?

This sounds like a function that is working as intended? Probably so you don’t lock yourself out of your car.

Do the 2023 have proximity module? The 2021/22 did not and I hadn't heard they added it. The only priximity is the welcome lights and mirrors. I added one for lock/unlock.

As for the manual locks they should work with and without the key unless the car is still on or in accessory mode

I'm having trouble getting the outside door locks on the handle to lock all the cars doors when I'm outside the car. It eventually works, but I have to fiddle with it every time which can involve pressing the lock button on the door handle 5-15 times before it works. Is anyone else having this issue?

Yes, but no doors lock for me at all. And I also have the sx prestige.

The car will not lock from inside or outside if fob is out of range. When I get out of my car with my hands full (grocery, etc) I use the remote lock (fob or app) when I’m inside my house. But now that my Kia Connect has expired (I did not renew) I only use my fob to lock my car. But I look out the window when I do this to confirm it! Thanks.

2023 sx it all locks but driver door will not unlock without using the remote key fob. Mirrors come out to greet me but the door won’t unlock. Passenger door works. Very annoying because I read the manual 100 times trying to work out what I was doing wrong. Dealer is 10 mile drive

You’re touching the inside part of the door handle, without accidentally touching the indentation on the back of the handle at the same time?

Yes handle locking is very quirky. Varies from quick touch and done to, pushing, holding, jabbing, chanting, ready to go down on one knee. Finally it engages. Perhaps has to do with two sets of keys outside but near vehicle?

I’m having the same problem. Just spent 2.5 hours at the dealer! They brought in another 2023 and it had the same problem! Maybe a software update is needed?
