Double fob failure

Telluride failed to start. Would not recognize either fob. Kept showing on dashboard “Key not recognized” Car has 8000 miles and passed NY inspection yesterday and 7500 mile service as well. Seems others have had this problem.

Have you tried pressing the push to start button using the fob or replacing the fob battery?

Batteries were new Tried everything Never an issue before

If the problem does not fix itself, dealer visit would be in order. You should be able to get the car started via the method mentioned above, via UVO, or the remote start fob. If none of the methods work, call roadside assistance @1-800-333-4KIA.

Edit: It certainly sounds like your car is not recognizing the fobs but try putting a jumper pack on the battery.

Vehicle was towed to dealer. Battery was dead (only 8K miles) which could mean it was the cause or the effect. Time will tell.

Some owners who have experienced a dead battery usually had their instrument cluster lights blink on and off when trying to start their cars. Like the car is possessed. You didn’t experience the same?

Was the car left parked for a long period of time? If not, you probably are one of the unlucky few that had a bad cell in your battery.
