• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... My husband and I are trying to decide between these two trims.

If you have SX, do you love those extra little features (surround camera, second sun roof, etc)?

If you have an EX, do you wish now that you had those features?

I don't want to settle for the SX and in a few years wish we had gone for the SX and had those extra things.

If you have the money SX a better choice... blind spot view, surround view... etc...

Yes, of course. That's not really the issue. And who doesn't like saving a little money if those extra features aren't absolutely necessary, right?

If you've owned the SX and absolutely love them and are glad you splurged a little or think "you know, I could live without this blind spot camera..."....thats what I'm curious to know.

For me, the drivers seat memory, blind spot and surround views are the main three things I would love to have. The only one of those I really really would truly love is the drivers seat memory. If you're reasonably tall and ever gotten into a car after a short driver, you'd understand.

But virtually all this stuff is subjective...

I have the money but chose the EX premium (coming in two weeks). I have an 8 year old car with basically none of the bells and whistles so either way this was going to be a massive upgrade... my first car I'm choosing because I WANT it versus it's just a "smart" choice. Anyhow, I looked at the upgrades and they mostly just didn't matter to me. I'll be the only driver of it 98% of the time so seat memory doesn't matter. I don't care to upgrade the sound. A few more seat adjustments didn't matter... loved the feel of the EX seat already. The extra safety features just didn't seem worth the extra money at that point. To me, the next feature worth it is the slick look of the napa leather stitching from the SX premium package. But again, not worth going all way up to that to get just that feature. To each their own, but a lot of the extras going up a level just weren't important to me personally.

Significant (I listed significant mostly non-aesthetic) Differences between EX Premium and SX:

Dual Sunroof
High-Beam Assist
Front Fog Lights
20-Inch black wheels vs. 18-inch alloy wheels (EX Nightfall (+ $1295) gets 20s)
10-speaker upgrage
blind spot view monitor
surround monitor
7-inch color trip computer vs. 3.5 inch
Homelink
64-color ambient lighting
12-way adjustable seat vs 10-way
seat memory
stainless steel door scuff trim
stainless steel pedals
parking distance warning - forward

EX AWD Premium = $41, 285
SX AWD =$44,390

Difference =$3,105

That's worth 3k to me. I think especially the dual sunroof, front fogs, speakers, blind-spot view, surround view, 7 inch color trip computer, ambient lighting, seat memory.
Your needs and desires may vary :)

I'm not left wanting with my EX-P. Well, memory seats. Most of the competition puts memory seats in their equivalent to Kia's S trim. It's not a big deal though.

Much of the upgrades with SX are electronic, more electronics to fail. I like the look of the sx center screen between the gauges but I'll pass on the 3 extra cameras and extra parking sensors. I didn't get to spend a ton of time with the HK system but I don't know if it's an upgrade over the stock system. Mine sounds fantastic and I like my music loud.

Also, the previous poster was mistaken on a couple of things. You get 20" wheels and LEDs w/HBA on the EX Premium.

I personally like the brushed aluminum wheels and they're soooooooo much less work to clean than the SX wheels. Which really don't look great unless they're cleaned by hand, like really clean.

I would've wanted to add prestige for the dune seats and 110v plug had I gone sx so call it a $5k difference. I don't miss the dune seats, they aren't as good looking in person as they were on the website. I still like em, no offense to any dune seat owners, I just ended up liking my black seats more than I figured I would. For me, it was a slippery slope. Well, you're at 43, why not spend 46 for the sx? Well, you're at 46, why not spend the extra 2 for prestige? I had to cut it off somewhere. Glad I did.

Anyway, I'm not rooting for either trim, just giving my perspective. Buy what you like.

Two words:

The wheels 😍

Good call on the 20" (alloy) wheels on EX-P. The trim comparison tool I looked at on Kia's site was wrong on that I think. Or I read it wrong. But yes, they are mentioned under the EX Premium package for EX. I knew that EX-P got the LED headlights, but it doesn't specifically mention High-Beam Assist. But that makes sense that the upgraded headlights might come with that tech. And you would know since you have one :)

To me, if I was going to build a Telly more for overlanding, I'd go LX or regular EX because the sunroof / dual sunroof isn't as great with a platform rack and the 18-inch wheels (more sidewall) are better for off-road. But alas I am city-slicking 98% of the time so give me all the extra tech on the SX and I suppose the lower profile 20-inch rims.

I love the features on the SX and really found them great on a recent 3000 mile road trip. The rear sunroof I could care less about.
