All,

Looking for recommendations or feedback on doing some exterior work on a `23 Ebony Black Telly scheduled for delivery in April. I would like to do a chrome delete and then do some type of protection. First, what is the best way to do the chrome delete? Wrap/Paint? Does the dealer offer these services or is it better to go to a private company?

What is the best way to protect this investment? Is ceramic the best option or is PPF better option or value?

I've done a search and found some info, so I apologize if I missed the answers to these questions. Thank you!

Any other recommendations before I get my new ride?!

Thank you!

I got mine wrapped yesterday with gloss black 3m product (don't know specifically as I didn't do the installation). It looks like it came from the factory this way, and frankly it should.

Edit: He used 3M series 2080 wrap film

I picked up a 2022 ebony black SXP AWD last November and had it ceramic coated. = $1000

It is winter so everything gets on it here in PA so not sure I can really appreciate the $s invested into that yet, hopefully the summer will allow me to enjoy it more.

Also had the the front bumper PPF'd = $600

Wheels and windows also ceramic coated = free, was included in the above price

Not an expert, but from what I understand they’re really not that comparable because PPF has an added level of protection that ceramic doesn’t (chips). As I understand the various options:
Ceramic & Graphene $= clear coat protection, environmental protection (bird droppings, tree sap, etc)
Vinyl wrap $$$$= all above and color change options as well as finish change (gloss, satin, & matte)
PPF $$$$$$= all above (EXCEPT color change) AND chip protection.
Not all PPF’s are made equal (self healing) so if that’s the direction you’re going be sure to research the brand. And be prepared to pay anywhere upwards of 5K for the install (full vehicle). And many suggest getting the ceramic over the PPF for the hydrophobic qualities otherwise while your paint is protected well your vehicle will look dirty more often.
With all of these protection methods you will want to use a PH neutral soap so say goodbye to the neighborhood car wash and hello to the two bucket method 🙃 As I said I’m not an expert, just someone on this journey as well. I opted for the vinyl wrap recently. I live in Michigan and when the salt from the roads/ melting snow got on the vinyl it was a hot mess! The salt just sa on it and dried that way. I have applied a graphene spray coat with two ceramic spray coats on top to the vinyl myself. Looking forward to see the results.

On my 2023 I also had a local shop perform a 3M vinyl chrome delete. Then I added wheel spacers, painted the wheels and brakes. Amazing how much these simple mods improve the overall appearance. I had the following areas wrapped: roof railings, door handles, window trim, rear bumper, front bumper, front grille, front emblem, lower door trim, rear bumper reflectors (w/ dark window tint).

looks good and fully agree should’ve come like that. Getting the same done with the same 3M material.

Did you get the entire vehicle wrapped or certian sections (if so which)?
Just the silver areas of the bumper, grill, and side sills. He also wrapped the little blade things that stick out of the fake inlet on the lower front sides.

Can you guys tell me what you are doing with the "Telluride" letters in the back? Are you have them wrapped too or have you found an aftermarket supplier that sells the 2023 font lettering in black to switch from the silver color? Thanks
