Texas requires a front license plate and I am considering not drilling and mounting the plate but would like to know what other Texas Telluride owners are doing with their front plate.

Here is my Telly with the sly bracket frame. Frame was super easy to install and can be moved to different places if needed.

If you need to have a front plate, what's wrong with the Kia one? Not a fan of the asymmetrical look of 3rd party plates. Thoughts of moving to a state that doesn't have them? Concerned about resale?

Thanks Butch. I thought that was how they would install the Kia plate mount and didn't want the holes in my bumper. I got a 3rd party plate holder and put it about where you have yours. I can move it or remove it later if I want.

If someone doesn’t buy a car because of that then they have no business buying a used car. Either way it will have zero impact on resale value.

Just purchased a used 2020 Telluride SX FWD and it has the front license plate bracket already installed on the front fascia via screws. Personally I have always tried to avoid installing a front plate, even though Texas requires one. I've never been pulled over or received a ticket for not having one.

That being said, has anyone found a delete kit or a way to cover up the three existing holes in my fascia if I remove the bracket? New tags should arrive in a couple of weeks so for now I have time to figure something out.

My 2023 SX front wasn’t drilled
Went w sly brackets who now have brackets specific to the 2023 so you can center it above the sensors

Search "license plate hole plug" on Amazon. You can also get similar at Autozone/etc

I’m working on a project this weekend to paint some plugs I found on Amazon and install them into the bumper. First coat of paint is on now just need to let it dry for a few hours. Not sure if the head of the plug will be enough to cover up the area around the prior hole but I’ll give it a shot.

Final product turned out nicely I think. I can always reinstall the front license plate and OEM bracket if needed.

You were fortunate the holes were symmetrical and small. I've encountered worse at times. Nice job. I repaired my daughter's dark Grey Mini with some simple black trim fasteners the same way.

I'm in TX and just installed the factory front license plate bracket. It was so easy, just drilled little holes in the factory pre-marked locations, lines right up, took 5 minutes. I was tempted with the Sly bracket but didn't' want to spend $80 and mess with it. Don't be shy of the factory holder. I'm also using a soft silicone frame which is convenient. $11 for two off Amazon.

Exactly if you need one, the Kia is all you need.

@DarkMossJustin is on PCH north of Malibu in the State of Kalifornia. My interpretation is that, even though the state requires a front plate, he has been sans one for years and is willing to take the risk. I float back and forth between MT and CA and MT requires them too, but I have not been willing to drill the bumper. It's a much cleaner look. I'm willing to wait for a fix-it ticket - I'm sure he is too.

Got it. I like how the lack of words let's us make our own interpretation! I was originally going for he broke down and abandoned his vehicle due to transmission vibration

I refuse to drill into the face of my Telly to comply with Commiefornia tyranny.

The only "fix-it" ticket I've ever received was decades ago for a tail light out on a 1990 4-Runner.

Meter maid/city compliance bureaucrats in deep blue counties connected to big cities, e.g. Manhattan Beach in Los Angeles County will issue $50-60 code violation citations for missing front license plates on parked cars, when parked at the LA County beach lots, but if you can stay away from the disgusting mess known as L.A., why bother? 🇺🇸👌🏻😂
