A while back, there was some good informational exchange in the Forum about re-setting the electronic window sensors in case you ever experience troubles with them not staying closed at highways speeds.
This morning, I basically did the same thing to the lift gate. This is a pretty straightforward fix, just like the windows, but I thought I’d post so my fellow Telly drivers wouldn’t have to dive into the owners manual like I did.
For no obvious reason, my lift gate was trying to open but then stopping after about 1/2” of travel and re-closing. From all appearances it looked to be sensor related and not mechanical. Nothing was in the cargo area and all interfaces were free of debris.
The fix: Manually open the lift gate, then simultaneously hold the lift gate close button and the lift gate door handle switch for 3 seconds. After the confirmation beep, manually close the lift gate. That should reset the sensor back to normal.
