Hey guys!
My wife and I purchased a new 2025 Telluride this past weekend. We've typically stayed in the Ford and Toyota realm regarding our previous vehicle ownership. What initially got us looking at the Telluride was actually due to her parents owning a Kia Borrego for the past fifteen years. After doing some research we realized this is the final year for the Telluride to have the same 3.8L V6 as the Borrego. As we've researched we've come across claims of oil consumption regarding the 3.8L, however my in-laws Borrego has 200,000+ miles and has never had any major mechanical issues. I'm certain that there may be come technical differences between the two engines, but all in all they seem to be pretty close.
We looked at a 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander as well. My wife, who previously owned a 2012 Toyota Camry Hybrid is (or was) a Toyota loyalist and for good reason. When we set out to compare the Grand Highlander to the Telluride I was expecting the Telluride to be a bit of "dinosaur" considering a major update to the model line is coming in 2027. After checking both vehicles out we were very surprised with the features, appearances, and driving qualities we observed with the Telluride. We typically hang onto vehicles for at least ten years, we are very optimistic that our new Telluride will serve us in making that happen.
If there are is any helpful information you guys could share to boost our ownership of our new ride please feel free to share!
