Nightfall running boards?

Great to hear that it was remedied. Replacement or refunded money back? If you don’t mind me asking

He said he'll refund half of my money back. I'd much prefer a replacement of the one running board, but I understand how that could be financially problematic for them when factoring in shipping.

For anyone with the all black Peerless ones - questions for you:

1. Are the original plastic panels definitely needed to install? I see it says 'Every set comes complete with vehicle specific mounting hardware bolts to the rocker panel for an easy, no-drill installation on most applications' so assuming that yes, but not so clear on how or what we need when the panel is off without any parts (vs. still attached from manufacturer. I have panels but most of the clips were lost or broken so. Is it possible to do without the panels / has anyone done this?

2. Is there an option to install them with more or less space between them and the car? The pics some of you posted here with them on look like they are very flush/minimal to no space. Other pics I found online of them on look like they have a very noticeable space in between (attached one I found)

3. If removing OEM boards to install these (and all of that hardware is not able to be re used) is the hardware that come with the Peerless ones all that's needed to install or is there anything else?

I second this: I am a bit worried about the massive gap between the bottom of the car body and the top surface of step, in some of the photos.
Not only does it take away precious ground clearance, but it does give off the 'handicapped van' aesthetic...
