• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I was wondering if there are any fellow Palisade defectors like myself out there.

I just ordered a moss green Telluride SX Prestige with the grey interior and the tow package. I currently have a Black exterior, beige interior, 2020 Palisade Limited (top trim for 2020) that I purchased in February 2020. I was very pleased with my purchase at the time. My wife and I had test driven a lower line Telluride, but because of the long wait for the top trim and the potential for dealer mark up, we went with the Palisade and got it below MSRP.

In November, our car was in the shop for 29 days with an oil leak at the oil pan due to a faulty silicone bead during the building process. I realize the engines are identical, but hope the American built Telluride will have better quality control. We also have wind noise near the upper B pillar on both sides that was attempted to be fixed using foam inserts by the dealer based on the recommendation from a TSB from Hyundai. Unfortunately it didn't fix it. I forget about the wind noise with the music on, but it drives my wife nuts.

I have yet to drive an SX, but am hoping with the acoustic windshield and front side windows, this will be eliminated. Every professional review I've read has mentioned how quiet the Telluride is. I did drive a used 2020 EX and was told it had the same acoustic glass. Unfortunately, it was only slightly quieter at freeway speeds.

Each vehicle has their attributes, but I really prefer the look of Telluride inside and out. What really sold me about the Telluride was the fact that the Blue Book value of our Palisade is approxinnately $3,000 less than a comparable 2020 Telluride for both private party and trade in.

I would be interested in anyone's thoughts on how quiet theTelluride is and if there are others who have defected from the Palisade to the Telluride. Have a great day.

In my experience of owning Koreans lately, what was produced in America is of significantly lower quality in comparison with those produced in Korea. The quality of the body painting is several times worse for the Americans, the standards allow this. I had a couple of warranty repairs for Koreans, spare parts were of inferior quality.

The Telluride may be built in America, but it still has a very high percentage of Korean parts (including, notably, the engine).

Your Palisade already has an acoustic windshield and front windows. As you may have noticed, they can help, but aren’t magic. Both the Telluride and Palisade are very quiet vehicles, but typically the Telluride was found to be slightly quieter when tested. The Telluride was the quietest vehicle Car and Driver tested in 2019, regardless of price.

+ I didn't have a palisade, but I drove it a little bit and inspect it. Telluride is much worse in quality, but more beautiful. Palisade is cheaper when buying and cheaper when selling, telluride is very good at keeping the price due to the created excitement. How long this will last, no one knows, but at one point prices in the secondary market collapse. Kia spends a lot of money on marketing, unlike the palisade. In this regard, the Kia 0 customer service, while the Hyundai one is better. It's easier to solve problems with them. In terms of engineering, the machines are completely identical. By the way, telluride also has wind noise.

Mine is so quiet. It’s very smooth at every speed range. The power is nice, the engine actually sounds very good, slight aggressive rumble to it. Not “fart canny”. All around great driving experience so far. And I pulled up next to a caligraphy and the owner broke his neck. 👌🏾

You won't be disappointed with the SX P Telluride. Go for it. It did appear to be quieter than the Palisade in my opinion. Wind noise in Palisade was a known issue - but not necessarily universal.

Kia and Hyundai have made leaps in quality in recent years - particularly Kia in my opinion.

Any vehicle could potentially have issues, but after 1.3 years of ownership, our SXP has been perfect.

It's quieter than my Honda CRV was, though the new CRVs may be improved. I find it a smooth and quiet ride.
