• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Have an SX with second row captain chairs. When we put the third row down for grocery pick up, etc. the bags end up sliding all over the place.

Anyone have any good solutions? All the cargo nets I have seen to up behind where the third row is not giving me the room I’m looking for.

If you buy the cargo nets, yes they are normally installed upright behind the third row seats. But there are also clips further in the cargo area you can attach the net to so it is flat.

This is a net I bought, but I haven’t tried using the flat mounted way yet.

Other options are cargo blocks.

Or cargo bags/bins.

Or even just a rubber cargo mat that would prevent from sliding.

This is $8 at the stores. 2 of them collapsed will fit in the hidden compartment when not needed. They don't slide around even when empty unless you drive like a maniac. :) 2 of them will fit the cargo area with 3rd row up too. I use these more than the oem cargo net.
That is exactly what we use, works perfectly

Bought the CarGo plastic stuff holders from VW. Had them in a Jetta Sportwagon and my Audi allroad. They stick like glue to the carpet and can be arranged any way you want. When not in use they can go in the under floor bin

We purchased a cargo organizer that holds 3-4 grocery bags upright. It is collapsible, has some exterior pockets, and clips onto the cargo net brackets if one wishes to secure it. We’re very happy with this solution.

My advice would be to quit driving like a maniac and stop buying so many groceries. Ok, Joking aside, it is an issue with the car because of the open space behind the captains chairs. I never had this issue with any other SUV I owned because they all had bench seats with a nice solid wall to hold the contents. I picked up some collapsible crates like others have used but think KIA could develop some more eloquent solution.

How much should I expect to pay for a brand new OEM cargo net from a Kia Parts Department these days?

We have three of these and have bought for family members as well. Love them and they collapse and stow nicely.

my ‘06 4Runner has grocery clips on each side, in the very back. They’re super useful and I think all vehicles should have them.

I have had these for a long time and love using at the grocery store (when they allow own bags). I have a canvasback floor liner in my car and that makes things slide more. These do move some but nothing tips, falls out, or other wise rolls everywhere like happens with plastic grocery bags. These fit several plastic grocery sacks depending on what is inside. And even with the slick liner they do not move much. I thought about adding a bungee cord, but he movement has been minimal enough I never bothered. And I have about 5 or 6 of these in the storage compartment.

The rear cargo bin is a handy place with a nice amount of room to hold roadside essentials or items mentioned here in this thread. My problem is with the lid to this bin area. I have the factory rug and the fold-up plastic protector laid out in the cargo area with the third-row seats down most all the time.

After accessing the bin I always have this little fight with the lid trying to get it back into position (flush with the floor) before shutting the rear hatch. It's really hard when using one hand. I taped over the velcro strips on the protected covers so that isn't a problem, it's the lid coming loose and having to reposition it just right in order to shut it.

Anyone else experience this? Has anyone created a hack where one can hinge the lid so you can easily raise and lower it while keeping it in place?

In addition to the OEM cargo net, we've been very happy with this collapsible cargo crate. It's been a perfect solution for carrying groceries from Costco.
