I think it’s worth it for me since I keep vehicles for a good while. More valuable to me the older the vehicle gets. The manual I purchased is in a pdf format. Looks like it was derived from the proprietary manual used by dealers. Not too bad.
If you review the terms of service, you should only being using that manual for 24 hours and they may have used your information when getting the info from Kia.

TheNip73,

Guess I still have 23.95 hours of use since I briefly glanced at it when I made my initial purchase:). Seriously, try to define the meaning of "only during the subscription paid to the manufacturer?" Why is this site still in business if they are violating or aggravating copyright law?

I understand the document was generated directly to me and for my specific VIN so I do not share or republish any part of it even though I've been asked to do so in this forum.

I'm not a political activist but with all the smoke blowing around about the right to fix your own stuff I'm ready to sport my bandana and protest if the manual police come knocking on my door!

I have had both manuals stored on my PC for months. Every page is printable. This is not a scam.

Glad I found this thread. I too tend to buy my vehicles new from the dealers, and then drive them till then disintegrate back into Mother Earth. Which is also why I try to buy the service and electrical manuals for every one that I've owned.

I miss the old days when you used to be able to buy a huge paper manual about 3" thick for the vehicle, but those days are long gone... The last set I purchased was for a 2017 Fiat 124 Spider Abarth, and what MOPAR was selling was either time-limited access to a website with the information provided in a portal format, or by content delivered on a USB stick or DVD. Unfortunately, the content can only be accessed using MS Internet Explorer, and will likely be completely non-accessible in the near future (so I'll keep an old laptop running Vista specifically to access them). With this outfit providing content in portable document format, I don't see that becoming obsolete before the vehicle does. And the price isn't bad either.

But I digress... Paying for access to the dealer/service portal? Just no. If accessed for personal (non-commerical) use, the price should be set reasonably low. Manufacturers just don't understand that point, so they try to hose everyone for as much money as possible for access to service information. I can not and will not accept ransom pricing.

Update: Wow! Just WOW!

I ordered the service and electrical manuals yesterday, and they were ready for download this morning. The amount of information you're provided is astounding, and very, very well presented. My Fiat/MOPAR service and electrical manuals aren't horrible, but this .pdf version for the Telluride is phenomenal.

By T's and C's associated with the purchase, I cannot share content with anyone else, so please do not ask me to look something up for you. If you need the info, it's the best money you could spend for long term ownership of the vehicle.

What do you get?

Well, in my case, a 630 MB .pdf document (I purchased the service and electrical). It's a total of 16.051 pages of documentation!!!! The first 388 pages are the service and electrical documentation, and the remainder is the detailed outline of DTC's for the vehicle. So if you've thrown a code and want to figure out what it is before you take it to the dealer, this is how you find out.

Suffice it to say I'm thoroughly impressed. They generate these .pdf documents for a pretty wide range of vehicles, but every manufacturer is included in their range. For example, Fiat's aren't listed. But I kicked off an email to them this morning to see if they have the ability to generate documentation for vehicles not in their standard coverage list. I'll post an update on what I get back from them, since it's pretty hand stuff to have for every vehicle you own. The caveat I would note is that unless you plan on owning a vehicle for a long time, it may not be something you're interested in... but if you keep your vehicles for the long haul, it's certainly money well spent. IMHO.

You have summarized my experience with this manual provider. I too was astounded at the depth of detail, the size and the ease of locating a particular sub-category. You are correct, it is quite the value for the money. I have already used the manual three times for research. If you are interested in what makes the Telluride do what it does and why it does, this is the manual for you.

Thanks for all the info folks.

1 general question: does it show how to remove interior panels and seat covers, etc?
It's the same information that would be used by a dealership service department. Just buy it. You won't regret it.

Is the one you purchased like this free Hyundai Palisade Repair Maual link.

Palisade Repair Manual
That free version for Hyundai is not even remotely close to the same level of content. What I was describing is not a basic owner's manual, it's the complete documentation that would be used by a dealership service department for analysis and repair work. An order of magnitude difference in information.

I have no affiliation with the outfit that sells them, but I feel safe to say you'll really like what you get for the investment. I purchased service manuals for one my other vehicles via MOPAR Tech Authority, and this one for the Telluride is night and day better. The outfit that produces them also makes them for a pretty wide range of other vehicles too... not just Kia. So when you're on their site, it's worth checking out if they have anything for any other vehicles you own that might be of use to you. I tried to talk my wife into getting one for her Mitsubishi, but she didn't understand the value proposition. :)

Haynes manuals are pretty good and I've purchased them for vehicles back a few decades ago. But I would suggest these are far superior. Where a Haynes was typically a photographically documented disassembly of a vehicle, you'll find these are more in line with a combination of the traditional paper service manuals that used to exist in dealership service departments, combined with all the details that would now typically be found online in those same service departments. Incredibly richly detailed information on all aspects of the vehicle. Related aside: back in the early 80's I owned a Plymouth Reliant... factory order with every option that could be included added into the build. I then bought the service and electrical manuals for the vehicle, which consisted of two soft cover letter-sized books, each of which was about two inches thick. How times have changed. :)
