• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I ordered a Telluride July 3 and was told today my Telluride came in but was damaged during transport. The hatch needs to be replaced, some paint, and the emblem. They will fix it and it will not be in Carfax as being damaged. I am going to see the damage tomorrow. Not quite sure what my options are. I’m disappointed that I ordered a vehicle from the factory and it will not be in factory condition. Depending on the damage, doesn’t it have to be reported to Carfax?

I think if you going to have a part of your car damaged, the hatch is probably the least obvious. There isn't a whole lot of painted surfaces there and the other parts can just be replaced. It stinks but its either back to the beginning or seeing if the fix is going to be the answer. Knocking some money off would take some of the sting out but not sure what leverage you have. Carfax is only used when an insurance claim is filed. (Ask me how I know!) There are thousands of cars out there with accidents that don't have a Carfax record.

This is not that unusual. Unfortunately, it happens sometimes. I know people who have taken delivery of LS460s after a repair at the dealer.

I wouldn't accept a damaged vehicle. What is broken can never be fixed like factory or even painted better than factory for that matter. Imo.

Unfortunately I am ordering another as the parts to fix the damaged Telluride are on back order nod may take as long as ordering a new Telluride. So now the wait continues.

It's for the best you get brand new factory non damaged. You will thank yourself later. Plus, you are already paying big money. Don't accept damaged goods.

Only way I would see myself taking a damaged new car would be DEEP discounts and if I planned on keeping till the wheels fell off. I bet the accident would still hurt resale value.
