Hi …Just purchased a 2023 Telluride . Was hoping to tow my 3000 lb boat with it sd everyone said it would tow 5000 lbs. However my owners manual says the wt limit is 1650 lbs without trailer brakes! My trailer dies not have brakes! Will I have a serious problem towing this boat??!! Thanks!!

You may have problems with excessive wear, not to mention safety as actual stopping ability may be insufficient for a load of 3,000 lbs (plus whatever is in the car). Manufacturer's specs are usually pretty conservative, but your boat is nearly double the rated capacity of the Telluride.

If it were me, I wouldn't chance it except for a short distances on relatively level terrain. You could look into installing surge brakes; there are several companies with kits for retrofitting trailers.

I agree with @Yossarian. I would suggest finding a Camping World or a local trailer shop and paying to get them to install surge brakes on your boat trailer. Maybe less than $1000 but you will have a safer drive. If you are in states like AK, DE, MA, NC, RI or TX you can tow legally without trailer brakes but most other places you need them to be legal at 3,000lbs (reference). But to be safe, Telluride or not, you really should consider brakes on your trailer. It will also save on the wear and tear of the brakes and tires of the towing vehicle in addition to the added safety benefits. Surge (aka hydraulic) brakes are a relatively easy retrofit for a boat trailer.
