• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I have a new 2025 SXP XL and I'm hoping someone can help me understand the design of the profiles/keys/settings, because it seems pretty awkward so far. Here are a few things that I find really strange, but maybe I'm just not "getting it":
1. The key FOBs are not assigned to profiles. They seem totally independent. Is this a cost savings thing, or is there a logical reason for why it would be designed like this?
2. Unlike the key FOB, using phone as a key DOES automatically associate with a profile. Good, I guess.
3. Each user profile can use both of the seat settings (1 and 2, using the door buttons), rather than each profile assigned to either 1 or 2. This seems really strange. What is the use case for one profile requiring multiple seat settings? Wouldn't it be much simple if, for example, button 1 is my wife and button 2 is me, so we can just hit the button without waiting for the touchscreen to figure itself out?
4. Even when I get to the correct profile either by using my phone or selecting the profile in the touchscreen, it seems to select the last-used memory (1 or 2). Is this correct?

This is making me feel like an idiot. By comparison, our Ford Mustang MachE has each key FOB (and phone) assigned to an individual profile. And the "1 and 2" memory settings on the door are each also assigned to separate individual profiles. Door button 1 is my wife, and button 2 is me. Her key FOB automatically activates her profile, and mine activates mine. Same with our phones. It seems a ton simpler and more intuitive. But again, it feels like I'm missing the overall design idea of the Telly. Does it somehow make sense??

Is there a strategy I could use to simplify all this? I could see two possibilities:
1. Don't use profiles, and rely on Guest only. Configure seat setting 1 for my wife, and 2 for me. Advantage: quick and easy seat settings while entering the car. Disadvantage: we share all the same profile settings.
2. Use separate profiles and configure the seat settings so that each profile has 1 configured for my wife's seat settings and 2 configured for mine. Advantage: quick and easy seat settings. Disadvantage: we sometimes end up in the wrong profile and need to manually change back, and then it might revert the seat settings to "last used" (maybe?).

Hoping someone can make it make sense!
