• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... to the above list: a bottle of whiskey and condoms. 😅🤣

Errrr........ok.

That's where I initially saw it. The original $45 part is called a Moki Step and it was on a 2019 episode of Shark Tank (the couple that invented it spent $30K to design and patent and sold it on the spot to Daymond John for $3M). The door latch itself is meant to withstand 2,000 lbs of force. This step is rated for 510 lbs. I'm guessing this $12 one got around the patent by making it a multi-purpose device with safety hammer to break the glass in case you are trapped in the car and it is also folding. The original orange one is larger and doesn't fold.

It still works on the back doors but isn’t parallel with the ground. I can still reach the roof rack.
This looks like an ingenious product - esp if you have a box on the roof and your in snowy wet conditions.

when you used it did it leave any marks by the latch or did it scratch the paint?

I have a mini first aid kit/fanny pack I keep in all my cars trunks! Got tourniquets, bandages, tape, cleaning supplies, scissors, splints etc for any accidents I run up on. Not a medic but can plug a leaky hole til an adult comes by 😂.

It was a little scary to place it but not marks left. The bulk of the pressure was on the metal latch.

Just purchased a $12 Folding Car Door Latch Hook Step from EBay. I can’t believe I didn’t know about this! It solves a problem for getting to the roof rack so easily. It works well on the hooks for the driver and front passenger doors, but not so well on the rear doors because of the slant of the latch the way the Tellruide door is designed. However, it helps when I don't have a step ladder to reach up to the top from the front two doors easily.
I purchased one and i find it pretty useless. The latch on the Telluride door is so high that when standing on this step my knees are level with the top of the car, way too high for me (I'm 5' 9"). Well made and should work great on cars where the latch is lower. See the picture in the ad and notice how low the latch is.

That's brilliant - simple, but brilliant!

Similar here, I like this one because you can change the angle of it for the front and back doors.
