KFOS opened today and dealers are entering orders. If you have an order going in this month and you are wanting the Tow Package then it is possible your order can get delayed due to parts availability.


This is as of today. Thing may be different next month. This shouldn’t effect people who already are in KFOS and already have ETA’s

Is it at all possible for a vehicle to enter KFOS without tow package and then have it installed later - after delivery - and still include the self-leveling suspension?

Not that I am aware of. People have installed air bags to the Telluride after the fact and from my understanding works similar

IMHO, the cost of the KIA tow package is a BARGAIN. You not only get a factory hitch, and factory wiring, but you also get the self leveling suspension. Trying to do that suspension later would be difficult and expensive. And I would rather have the factory wiring, with full warranty.

@StephenCantrelle my dealer placed my order for a Telluride SX with tow package on December 9, 2020 (through KMA WEB DCS according to the screen shot they shared with me). I have not as yet been informed of a delivery date. Am I likely to be impacted?

It is automatically done now when already in a queue... the people with tow package may have delayed timing to receive

Yes more than likely... especially if you have yet to be given an ETA. sounds like you are in queue in the kdealer system and awaiting to get transferred into KFOS system.. the KMA WEB DCS is our main system that houses both the kdealer and KFOS sub systems...

They said it was still on schedule and delivery will be 12 weeks from when I placed my order on 12/9.

Definitely luck, just picked it up today. They originally said 12 weeks, it turned out to be only 10!

@StephenCantrelle hope all is well w/ you after the storms last week. Just received my KFOS confirmation # from our dealer. We ordered an SX w/o the tow package however they said that the KIA system crashed nationwide last week. Any insights you might be able to provide w/ the confirmation number?

Happened to me, apparently. I was told the order went into system in Oct 2020, and had been tracking mid-January delivery. I asked the dealership a couple times in last few weeks about ETA, but I wasn't able to get much back yet. I finally asked again yesterday...they did some more checking, including calling Kia to understand. Turns out my order went in actually in Dec 2020 (which I assume from what they said was it actually hitting line to start production), but then was delayed in mid/late Jan 2021 due to parts. I assume this is related to the tow package. I was told a late April / early May delivery date now. I was super bummed about the news, anxiously waiting!
