• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Hello, and nice to join this forum! I've had my "Telly" since August 2019, when I lucked out finding one that had literally just rolled off the truck at a dealership near Toronto. The car has been awesome.

I have an opportunity to swap my SX for and SX Limited Ebony Night Sky Edition. The price is obviously higher and my lease will reset, but my question is: Is it worth it? My current SX is missing some features like HUD, rear heating and cooling seats and it has three benches rather than two buckets and a third-row bench. Other than that...?

I would upgrade for the HUD alone 👍 if I were in your situation.

Thanks for the quick response! I need to decide like today. My only concern is losing one extra seat (not that I cart around 7 other people, but we are a family of five plus a dog and a cat) and, to be honest, re-setting the clock on my lease. But I definitely do not have the HUD, so that's a big one. Thanks again!

You’re losing the middle seat that no one really wants to sit in (to be honest). The money side is on you if you’re willing to lose those lease payments. Your call 👍

So you are really missing the Prestige package. There is a post in the forum if the Prestige is worth it and I wasn't considering a car that didn't have these added features. The Nightfall is a preference thing and doesn't offer any other features. I bought a 20 because the car was basically the same from the 21, sans remote start (UVO ok with me) and trailer hitch. If you not losing your shirt over the deal, why not?

We struggled with eight to seven seats but decided to throw caution to the wind and get a '21 SXL Nightsky (I'm also in the GTA, BTW). We have three boys (6 and under) and a 6-month old puppy, and I can't tell you how happy we are with seven seats. The extra room makes it easier and more versatile for kids to not only get in and move around, but it gives us a way better line of sight to make sure they are not up to any shenanigans. As for going from SX up to SX Limited, I echo the HUD sentiment above. I totally underestimated its value. It's incredible—super clean design and functionality, and because of that, I barely look down at my dash anymore. In regards to looks, I personally love the night sky/fall, for me, the additional investment was totally worth it.

Thanks for this! Sounds like we're very similar lifestyle and needs wise, so really appreciate the feedback. This forum is great - I wish I had found it sooner! Looks like I'm going for it and will get the car possibly this Thursday. I'm getting it from Cardinal Kia in Niagara Falls of all places. Thanks very much!

Hi there. Also in the GTA. I didn't want the HUD or captain's chairs (I want to be able to put two bodies in the second row with the 1/3 split down for skis and snowboards). I also didn't care about the nappa leather. So I just got the SX AWD. I did test drive an SXL and it was lovely, as the Tellys are. But personally, all the "extras" of the Limited didn't appeal to me. Like if I throw some kids/teenagers in the second row, does it really matter that their seats aren't heated and cooled? My teenager doesn't even wear a winter coat! Lol.

So it was a no for me, but of course everyone has their preferences.

hey, thanks for the feedback - you're totally right: do I REALLY care if the kids' tushes are warm or cool? That said, I do find the configuration of the benches a little limiting for my personal needs, but definitely worth thinking about. Either way, really appreciate this. Thanks!

Yah, the arrangement of the second row is probably more important for lifestyle than toasty baby tushies! Lol. If you decide on the SXL, I'm sure you'll love it.

My 2 cents from the other side of the country here in Vancouver.

My wife and I debated this as well . Do we trade-off the cheaper trim (SX) or pony up some incremental cash for SXL features we value such as the ability to get the Nightsky exterior and self leveling-rear suspension (we want to get a small trailer soon). When we test drove, we were only able to get our hands on an SX, and it obviously has the bench which we're accustomed to. As such, we definitely mulled over the captains chars because we have a 3 month old (and are planning to grow our family in the future) so we were a bit reluctant in putting his baby seat in a captains chair as it is new territory coming from a bench seat. But through research online and here, we felt comfortable.

Looking ahead, I do believe we will value having captains chairs for comfort of another passenger, easier sightlines, easier to get in/out, easier access to third row, mitigating any cramming, etc. And I'm sure we'll value the HUD to ensure we don't distract ourselves by looking over at the LCD.

Ultimately, we went with a SXL w/ Nightsky package.

A lot of this is personal preferences. I have an SX but didn't go w/ Prestige package bc quite frankly the HUD is nice but not necessary when I can just look down 6 inches. Also, most the time I'm not transporting passengers, but when I am it's my wife in the front and my toddler in the middle row. She's in a booster seat so the ventilated middle row isn't necessary.

That definitely helps! Worth much more than 2 cents! Appreciate it very much!
