• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I am purchasing an EX Premium Package and my dealership is offering to convert it to a quasi-“nightfall” for $3000? Is this a bad deal? They’ll black powder coat all the chrome but do not replace the grill for the true Nightfall grill.

"Quasi-nightfall", I thought dealers were out of control with markups but this takes the cake. Don't do it. They are gonna pay some aftermarket shop a couple of hundred dollar to paint your stuff black. If it peals or comes our looking like crap they will say they don't know you. Pay the extra $$ for an actual nightfall if that is your thing. Also, when you go trade it in a couple of years, you are probably not going to be recouping your money on a made up "quasi-nightfall" dealer package.

Very often I question the folks who buy a lower trim to "save money", only to immediately spend the same money if not more to upgrade to look like a higher trim... headlights, rims, etc.

What gives?

Walk away

My opinions. Dealerships are not the best for doing this kind of work. I have seen it also in luxury brands like BMW and Audi. You may (or may not) be dealing with technicians that are truly trained in doing this. Autobody workers, yes. To have them pull off all the parts and replace them without damaging the clips retainers, etc I think is wishful thinking. If you want it, get one that has it on from the factory.

Note that most dealerships outsource these type of work anyways to local custom shops.

3k and you're not even getting the real NF grille, headlights, emblems, wheels, etc.? yikes...

I also find it hard to believe they will be powder coating anything... I would just go to a local tint/wrap shop, have them do the trim. should be like $1k or less.

We are currently having a chrome delete performed on our 2020 SXP. Wrapping all chrome pieces with exception of the chrome mesh in the grille, including the roof rails, for $600. I'm then going to replace the front and rear Kia emblems with the nightfall ones for $75, and the TELLURIDE lettering for another $100.

$3,000 from the dealer sounds like robbery!

Leave the NF wheels alone. They get enough s already..:p

One huge benefit is that you are not getting those nightfall wheels. That alone might be worth the $3000. ( ;) Ok, sorry, couldn't resist)
You ain't lying. I'm looking to swap my NF wheels for SX wheels. Dealer won't do it. But i did ask them to reach out to other customers with incoming NON NF cars to see if they would like to swap. Lets see.....Having said that, any idea on how much i can sell the NF wheels with tires for?

As a person with the SX, what's the difference? Besides the colour, I mean?

I saw a set go for $1600

I've seen that same wheel design for the nightfall on some 80's car and I am scratching my brain to remember. At first I thought it was an old Pathfinder, but nothing turned up. Anyone have an memories of a car with that wheel design?
