Hey All, just wanted to start a thread about my new 2021 SX Prestige Nightfall Tellruide, in Wolf Gray (with black interior obviously), with tow package. My wife and I sold out Tiguan, as we needed something bigger. So we test drove about every 3-row SUV in the class, and the Telluride was a no brainer. I figured I was going to get an Atlas, as I’m a long time Volkswagen owner. But atlas, it just wasn’t as good (sorry dad joke).

I have some plans for it, as I can never leave my cars alone. More of an OEM+ type “build”. But it’s fun to document the progress along the way.

We originally ordered a Gravity Gray on Dune on 8/12/20, but after an error in the order, we reorder a Wolf Gray on 10/21/20. We took delivery on 1/4/21. I made sure to have it in writing that the front late should not be mounted.

First things first, the $50k car didn’t come with floor mats. I didn’t realize that so I went back to the dealer, they were great about it and tossed in some Kia All Weather floor mats. But after getting them in hand, I didn’t love the coverage. It wasn’t as good as weathertech or Smartliner. And they didn’t cover the path to the third row. So I ended up ordering some Smartliner’s.

Overall I was happy with the SL. I like the look of them more. And they have good coverage, plus the texture makes them not so “slick”. Sometimes the hard plastic type mats are too slippery for me. But these aren’t too bad. The fitment up front was good. The rear ferment was not great, but it works. I’m hoping as they settle, they fit better.

Had to get the front windows tinted to match the rears. Went with 3M and I believe its 24%:

Ordered and installed some OEM Mud Guards. Really simple install. Remove 2 screws than hold the fender liner, pop the Mud Guard in, screw them back in, and pop in some bottom plastic rivets at the bottom. All the hardware comes with kit. Hardest part was the rear, as there isn't enough room to fit a screw driver in without taking the wheel off. So you just need a right angle or stubby wrench.

Very subtle, yet they do minimize the water and debris that comes up onto the side skirts and rear bumper.

It is. It looks lighter cause there’s a tree behind the back windows. Making it look darker.

Snagged the OEM cargo net. It’s a nice piece, and glad it has the dual function for when the 3rd row is up or down.

Found a set of OEM Kia cross bars on offer up, they were still un-opened in the box. They came with their car, but they weren't going to use them. So I met up with a local SX-P nightfall to grab them. Had a good conversation about our cars and buying experience. The Gravity Gray is nice (my second choice).

Got the bars home and installed them:

Overall all they are nice. I wish it had the slotted track like Thule's do. So you could mount accessories both ways. But for the price I paid, I'm not complaining.

Okay, is it possible to get a picture without a tree behind the back windows?

Picked up the OEM Kia Telluride Folding Cargo Tray (AA015 | S9F12 AU001) to hold me over until I get the Canadian specific premium rear cargo mat.

Overall, not impressed. Its plastic and not a heavy rubber like the Kia All Weather floor mats. I liked how it extends to protect the 3rd row when those are down. But when the third row is up, its bulky and awkward. Also, There's nothing on the bottom holding it in place, its just sits there. I mighty try to find a way to attach some Velcro to it, and create some slots for the 3rd row release, that way it stays up/vertical.
