However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Anyone buy an extended warranty on the Telluride?

I bought my sxp from the Lawrence, KS dealership. It came with lifetime powertrain warranty and I paid $2300 for electronics lifetime addition. They started much higher, and that was as low as they would go after negotiations. Although 'lifetime' sounds impressive, I don't know if I'll really hold onto her longer than 10 years. I usually don't do extended warranties, but as others posts in this thread indicate, for peace of mind for when some expensive component, like infotainment unit goes bad, I pulled the trigger. I counted all the buttons in my T-ride (dashboard, steering wheel, 4 doors, ceiling, back cargo area) and on the sxp version, it approaches 100! Plus the production out of the GA factory was at a really high rate when my SUV was pushed out. Time will tell if I made the right decision.

I paid $1,400 for the extended warranty - down from 2K. As stated by others the electronics are not covered all 100,000 miles. Being a 1st year production I felt the need to buy. I usually do not go for extended warranty. I'm at 25,000 miles with no issues regarding electronics. So far I'm very happy with the Telluride.
I feel the same way!!!

Has anyone received offers for extended warranties after 30 days (not the annoying spam calls 😂)? For example, the 2015 Subaru Legacy I used to own, I received offers from Subaru asking if I wanted to purchase an extended warranty. This could be purchased in a lump sum or they would charge your credit card each month for, say, 10 months. Does Kia do anything like this?

I always pass on the extended warranties.

I’d do my due diligence and research what these callers are offering — sounds like they’re scammers.

Yes on the calls, those are scams I always ignore. I was referring to specific legitimate offers I had received from Subaru themselves in the past when I owned that vehicle before the original warranty ran out. I assumed KIA did the same.

as far as I know, Kia does not actively try to sell their extended warranty pre or post sale(dealers on the other hand...). I couldn't even find EW information on new cars from Kia.com. CPO and new(under 5k miles/6months(?)) is only way to purchase Kia EW. 3rd party maybe available. I know credit union usually offers EW at the time of (re)finance.

I have avoided "extended " on new vehicles for most of my 50yrs of car buying.....BUT, bought the KIA extended warranty from a dealer on this forum.......I bought it for 3 reasons: 1. I love the vehicle and know that at the age I am at, it will be all that I need for the foreseeable future. 2.the extended warranty EXTENDS the coverage of the electronics which are NOT covered to the end of the 10yr/100k original warranty , and 3. the particular dealer's price was the best out there. Peace of mind......

Just to be clear, KIA does not offer an extended warranty. Any extended warranty you see/hear about is 3rd party.

Agreed. It is Kia branded EW(Kia Distinct Platnum) offer by Fidelity. Sold and supported by most Kia dealerships.

This might be a stupid question but do I have to buy the warranty from the same place I bought my Telly? I just put a large deposit on an sxp nightfall that’s slated to be coming late next week. I am quite sure the warranty they will offer at pickup will be about 3000. I saw that the Muncie orders got a 1500 warranty. So can I shop around for the warranty? How does that work?
you will get what you pay for, no matter the insurer. The list of items not covered with the KIA sponsored program is clear, concise. The price was $2940.

Not in the case for EW. Dealers will grossly overcharge for the same product. Kia sponsored program(Distinction Platinum 10y/100k/$0) you speak of is $1478 at Muncie Kia. You can get (almost) a full refund and buy from Muncie and save $1k+.

How do we reach Muncie to discuss warranty options? We would be interested in the Platinum or whatever can cover the tech/infotainment etc.

I feel like a Muncie Rep today. I didn't even buy anything from them. :D

Hi, I bought the extra warranty. Was explained that about the nine year mark cancel and you will receive a refund of a large percentage if you haven't used it. I paid extra 64 dollars a month. Have to pay that for term of loan which with me is 4 years. But coverage last 10 years. I figured 16 a week not bad.

Still available. and current pricing? Thanks in advance
Latest pricing and contact information can be found here. Price increased slightly, but still good compared to some dealer offerings.

Ouch! $64x48=$3072, which is bit more compared to Muncie. I really don't think pro-rated refund at 9th year is going to be "large". Check with your EW for exact amount and never take your dealer's word for it.
