• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I've been getting same message for 3 days. In the middle of a snow storm here in Chicago. UGH
I’m in south subs of Chicago ... so I am
In the same boat! It’s a pain! They need to fix this crap now... I lease and will not get this vehicle again without auto start on a fob

I've got the fob start. My experience so far is you have to stand about 10 ft. from the car for it to work. What good is that. I may as well go ahead and get in the car to start. Hopefully others are having a better experience with this.

Today is the 15th and I'm still getting this.

-22 degrees outside: one of the few times I would consider a remote start and the tool to do it doesn’t work. 😂

This is why remote start by app only, sucks!!! Kia please give it to us!!!

You would think that some dealers who hang out here would know what's going on? Surely Kia would inform the dealers who are likely to be inundated with calls about this.

I work in the IT industry and it is definitely unacceptable to have this service down for the whole weekend and more. It doesn't matter the reason (planned/unplanned updates, hacking, catastrophic event at the datacenter, etc), there has to be a recovery plan to get back online in a few hours at most. People are paying hundreds of dollars a year to have this service. Other are thinking about renewing the service. The reputational damage to the product last forever. I heard KDEALER is down as well. 3 weeks ago window sticker service was down. It looks like this is being handled as a demo product. Someone should be fired.

I'm receiving the same error. I just reactivated my account on Thursday. We're looking at temperatures in the single digits for the rest of the week, and I can't use the app to pre-heat my car. Normally I'd just tough it out, but we've got a newborn who needs to go to doctor's appointments, and that's just cruel.

I'm paying waaaaay too much money for this to not work. I called Kia out on Twitter, but of course no response.

There’s work arounds for this; no one expects you to put your newborn in a freezing car. Just gotta “make do” till it comes back

By no means I am excusing Kia here, but you could always use the remote starter on your FOB keys.

Definitely agree that there are work arounds, but three days without access, or even communication of an issue is absurd. I'm probably just venting out the week of no sleep though :-)

Instructions unclear. I have a 2020 EX, and was under the impression the only way I could remote start was with the app. I'd LOVE to be proven wrong here!

2020's don't have it on the keyfob. It is incredibly frustrating KIA hasn't done any public communication on what's actually happening.

Until then, just gotta do it the old way and start the car yourself. Best of luck this week.

My bad, I though you had a 2021 Model.

And for sure they should not post BS about this being scheduled.

I remember in Grapes of Wrath when Ma Joad had to do that :p

Just got a call from my salesperson and he didn’t know uvo was down. He wanted me to delete the app and reinstall. I had to explain about the error message on the app and that the owners section online was also down. So apparently they don’t clue their dealerships in either.

Now I get a message saying site is down for scheduled maintenance. BS of course but that makes it even worse. If you're going to schedule to be down for this long you let people know beforehand.

BTW what is the supposed effective distance for the key fob remote start. I can't find it in manual. Mine is lingering around 10 ft right now.
