If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Just joined from Toronto Canada. Seriously thinking about a Telluride purchase this spring. Want to learn about lead times, ordering differences between Can/USA orders. options, details, etc., and any other useful info. Tks in advance to all who provide and help and suggestions.

Welcome; we have plenty of Canadian members that can point you in the right direction. Good luck

Hi there, I live in the east side of the GTA and have ordered mine at the start of the month. Looking at Canadian posters at the forum I can see folks who got their cars in 3 weeks and those whose cars took almost 4 months. My dealership - Foster Kia - gave me 1-3 months for the one we ordered, custom. I would say if you don't want to wait and see one at the dealership that you want, just go for it.

In terms of differences between US/Canada, yeah, the trim levels are somewhat different. It seems that they have more flexibility as they can add some luxury features to any trim (it's a package called "Prestige"). Another difference is the towing package: in the US, most of it is installed at the factory; for some reason Canadian cars have to have all the towing features - wiring, hitch, etc - installed at the dealer.

For getting a good price you can just negotiate on your own or you can go down the APA.ca route, you pay the price that the dealership pays for the car + a reasonable markup and a dealership close-ish to you that is already prepared to accept that price, no negotiation needed. In my case I used their report to get the price I wanted from my dealership.

Are the Dune Brown Nappa Leather seats available in Canada? If not, order one of them from the Lower 48 if your PM or the POTUS haven't closed the border crossings 🇺🇲🇨🇦

No Dune to the Moon for us...

What color options are available?

Will Kia Canada allow the same upper trim options as the American market if y'all start a massive petition campaign?

We'll trade you the Black SX wheels and Dune Brown Nappa Leather Seats for use of "Everlasting Grey" with a more 'Merican spelling of "Everlasting Gray".

Sound good? Awesome, eh? :)

LOL, yeah, I would even type "color" in the Telluride context of we had more of them :)

Lexus ES. Need more space/room, want to keep upscale finishes, and also need a softer ride than currently available on newer models, plus more ground clearance.
Also hoping to get better Nav -, lexus sucks -would like to get something like current top Garmin features, or better.

Any ride/comfort comments out there? Specially tire size - 18 vs 20?

I have 20’s on my FWD S; rides nice and smooth and comfortable.

The Lexus spindle grills on the modern iteration of their front end are fugly. I loved the front end of my 2002 LS 430 but sadly Lexus went stupid with their "design language" and "f*** the old customers, let's make something ugly and make them buy it mentality".

Done with Lexus. Hello Kia :)

Killin'
It
Again :)

Keep
It
Awesome !!

Tks for the quick response.
I have been APA member for years for pricing and advice; and bought several vehicles with their assistance - but by using their info to deal direct with dealer as you did.
Did Foster deal with you nicely and would you recommend them - and/or did you contact any other dealers, in or out of town - I have seen a few in my neighborhood from Stouffville and Orangeville.
I'm willing to wait for custom - what % down payment did they want - if any, to hold order?
What lead time to delivery did they give you for your order at beginning of Feb? Days, Weeks, months?
Did you go to their Store? and was the ordering specs for colours, options, trims, etc. - identical to what is on the Kia Canada site - or were their changes or additions?
Any info you could share would be much appreciated.
Any rumors about a Hybrid version coming later in 2021?
Cheers!

I have purchased my 2015 Rondo at Foster and I've always had good service - so much that I choose to drive over there for maintenance instead of Durham Kia which is the closest to me. APA gave me Scarboro Kia but once I showed Foster the price I had, they matched it right away, it was the easiest way to purchase a car I've ever had so far, I hate negotiating.

The deposit for the car was $1000, and as far as I understand the order was made then and there, at least according to the manager.

They gave me 1-3 months, at the time I was there to put the order in the manager said I might have to remake the order because of the availability of the Napa leather, but this week the salesperson confirmed I'm getting the car as I ordered it. Also confirmed again that timeframe.

I went to the store for a test drive - drove an EX that they had there at the time - and then again for the purchase. Other than being told Napa leather might not be available anymore, they didn't try to change my order in any way.

I still have to straighten out the towing thing, they say they don't install a 7-pin harness, which I need in order to tow more than 1650lb, but I lay more blame at Kia Canada that is not selling the one they make for American cars here in Canada and has no solution for it.

Well I hope my Telluride is the 2021 one so I don't want to think what's coming for the 2022 :) I've seen a thread about speculation for the coming year, maybe this was mentioned there.

A deposit gets you in line to order with that Dealership.

Then it's a waiting game until your dealer gets an allocation (only a certain amount are given by Kia to each dealership every month).

Only then is your actual order picked up by the Kia Forward Ordering System (KFOS).

Your order now becomes reality, production happens, everything moves a lot faster and Kia will post your VIN and window sticker online, listing everything that was able to be put into your order (Not all options/accessories are available at all times, but you can order most everything else OEM from the Parts department, or go for third-party aftermarket stuff if you want WeatherTech Floorliners HP, Husky Liners, ToughPro, Tux, Smartliners, etc.)

After the car's built, checked, tested around the test track plus all the usual inspections it then goes out for transport. When it finally comes off the truck at your dealership, you'll then get the call you've been waiting for. Take delivery that day or the next if you don't want car shoppers sniffing around your new ride or accidentally leaning on your quarter panels. Fun stuff if you're patient for that initial wait in line behind possibly many other customers before your order gets in the system :)

Tks DMJ & CZK.

Looks like 3 mos wait is still pretty std. USA members should check - Kia Canada - vehicles.telluride2021.overview - to see the limited subset of what we can get here in Canada - not all colors and interiors and trims, even when you choose the build & price app. Never heard of Prestige ??

Remember - Cdn dollars are about 1.3 x US dollars.

Re accessories, like mats, etc, that are listed in the accessory ribbon at the bottom of the spec pages; - I thought you ordered them at the time of vehicle purchase, but they were added from dlr stock when the vehicle arrived for delivery.

Will likely be looking for more info as I continue research.

Thanks for explaining this, I see people referencing KFOS all the time and I wasn't aware of how it fits into the process. I'm still very curious about how much of that applies to Canada - more specifically the VIN and window sticker online, does anyone know where that ends up? There's one member of the forum that gets some data that is available for Canadian cars and he says the window sticker is not published for them. Not to mention Failcat doesn't even include our VINs :(
