Potential Convert to the Telluride

Hi everyone,

Wife and I are recent converts to the Telluride. We just did test drives and looked at the Telluride, Palisade, and Highlander. At the end of the day, the Telluride won. We really liked the Palisade, but just can't get over the fly-by-wire buttons for the transmission. The outer appearances are a wash for me, but my wife favors the Telluride so that settles it.

Now we have to set about negotiating a deal for one. Thanks to the forum, we know what is out there. The local dealers are asking $7k markups.

A fairly new Hyundai Kona. My wife wanted a smaller car at first, but now she wants a third row of seats.

After testing them all, we're looking at ordering an EX AWD with captain's chairs and the tow package. Hopefully, this will be a long term keeper.

yea Telly Markups are insane. Some of the things others have done here is buying from out of state but of course compare the total then see what the best is. Weve some reputable dealers on here that have gotten great reviews for their excellent service. Name I remember the most is @StephenCantrelle. He's in TX. Hope this helps

We're definitely doing a Telluride. The only question is what color. Haha. The wife gets to make the final decision on Dark Moss vs Everlasting Silver. She has a thing about "greens that are too brown," so she gets to decide. Mainly, I think she wishes she could get a bright blue or green, like Hyundai's Surf Blue or Lime Green.

We're definitely doing a Telluride. The only question is what color. Haha. The wife gets to make the final decision on Dark Moss vs Everlasting Silver. She has a thing about "greens that are too brown," so she gets to decide. Mainly, I think she wishes she could get a bright blue or green, like Hyundai's Surf Blue or Lime Green.

I personally LOVE the Everlasting Silver. I wouldn’t change a thing if I could do it all over again. Just love that color.

Congratulations, nice pick. Accessories are a whole new can of worms you are opening up as there’s just as much debate on them as picking a telluride exterior and interior color. Definitely a most talked about one will be floor mats for protecting your new purchase. Tons of debate on those you will have fun reading up on. Side steps, badges, lifts, roof racks, ceramic coating ,PPF, etc are lots of other greats discussions. Hah... I may or may not have already told the dealer that carpet mats weren't needed because I had skimmed some of those threads already...

Floor mats, cargo mats, and roof racks are definitely things we I will be looking at. We definitely need things that can stand up to two dogs.

Ooohh so fun! I just got the EX premium with tow package in wolf gray and love it! I have to say I’m surprised how much I love the illuminated scuff plates! Makes it feel very fancy. I also got the weathertech HP (stress HP so you don’t get their ugly logo) floormats. In Colorado with a lot of snow and mud and coverage is awesome. Fit like a glove. Getting Thule aeroblades because the rack sits much lower than factory bars. Surprised about markup on MSRP. Dealers don’t seem to do that here. i25 Kia here seems to have a lot of inventory- plus they will ship the vehicle.

I've been really liking the Smartliner and the 3D Maxpider mats from what I'm seeing.

Also, in new news, after some discussion, we ended up jumping onto the NowCar waitlist for an SX AWD. NowCar expects that we can get an SX AWD within the next 5 months. In contrast, the original dealer we talked to said that an SX AWD might take 8 months to a year or longer. I am bit nervous about the potential of damage in transport or some defect that isn't caught on PDI with NowCar, but we will see.

Still sticking with Everlasting Silver though.
