• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Seems that the iphone 12 only supports wireless connection for Car Play (as opposed to iphone 7 which did) and telluride only connects to car play via a wire. Also iphone 12 uses a usb-c cable, not the usb port provided. Any guidance, I hate our telluride navigation system, went haywire at 12 month point. Want to use phone nav system instead. Desperately. Sick of being sent to the wrong location.

Use the exact same cable you used for your old phone. Just because you got a new phone doesn’t mean your old cable is worthless.

iphone 12 works with wired connection. You will need a lightning cable to USB(type A).

Edit: If you have EX-Premium with 10" Navigation, it stopped working because your UVO trial ended. You can disable UVO under settings and nav will work normally.

Your post has me a bit lost... Because the iPhone 12 Does not only support Wireless Car Play... Out of the Box the device comes with a Lightning to USB-C Cable, But you can still use your old regular Lightning to USB-A cable for wired Car Play...

We tried it repeatedly with the older wire (fit the phone fine, a lightning connection to a USB (presumably USB-A). It would never recognize the iphone connection. I thought we read online that the 12 only supported a wired connection (can't remember where now). My son was installing it for us, and he had easily installed it for his own 2021 Palisade with his iphone 10 and for us with the Telluride with my wifes previous iphone 7. We used the cable that my son uses in his palisade, so assume it was a good cable. Not sure if because of my wifes old 7 had been installed that we have to clear that path before we install another Car Play phone?

I just tried again. First I didn't see any way to "turn off" UVO. Just the choice to "Activate UVO" or modem selections if I remember correctly. Then I tried with my wire and the car light below the USB port didn't light up (as it did before with our iphone 7). Seems that the 12 just has something going on that the prior versions didn't.

Found the problem. I didn't have an apple cord. Evidently iphone 12 is more sensitive and requires a quality cord. Now I am hooked up. Thanks

Tried, and couldn't find how to disable settings. What is the sequence of the buttons to push? All I could get was signing up for it, or modem settings. No disable choices.

This should get you started.
