• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Dash cams:

Transcend DrivePro 550B:

Thinkware U1000:

Needs:

#1: maximum coverage angle so that the next time an Outback swerves into me it'll be captured on cam.
#2: crispest image to capture License Plate info:
#3: I do not want it hardwired as a permanent fixture in my car. Need it removable. I'm happy plugging it into the USB with wires showing, etc.

Thanks for your recommendations and feedback! :)

Love my Thinkware U1000. I don't know much about the Transcend DrivePro 550B.

I did a lot of research on dash cams. The U1000 is expensive.

U1000 4k @30 fps or 2k @ 60 fps front camera, picture is crisp. 2K QHD rear camera.

Sony Starvis chip creates a beautiful video at night.

Transcend is a battery not a super capacitor.

I think most are leaning towards the hard wired in for the super clean look, especially after the such in depth talk and install pics that have been posted on here. I think if your going dash cam you might as well go all in. Not sure if you want wires hanging down which would give your maligator a tempting new chew toy as you are running into the store for your second cup of joe ☕😂.
