• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... In order to avoid the NYC/North Jersey markup of $8,000 for an AWD SXP with Nightfall and Towing, I located a dealer 85 miles away who found exactly what I wanted for MSRP. Hooray and all that, but now I need a recommendation closer to home who can do quality, trustworthy service. Does anyone have someone they really like and trust? Thanks!

Sorry, I don't have an answer to your question but could you share the dealers name you purchased from? I am also in the NYC area and looking for the same as yours.

Thanks

Few things on this:
For non markup, I was able to acquire an SXP at Romeo Kia in Kingston, NY. Family owned business.
For service, after several trips to Kingston, needed to find something closer. Had good experience at Kia Nyack.

Topping this thread as my telluride is coming in shortly and wanted to see if anyone had any additional service recs for NYC area? Nyack is a bit far as I'm in brooklyn...

No. They universally suck.
This, I believe. And yet there are telluride owners in the city so they must be going somewhere.
One of them must suck the least...

I go to a regular mechanic in Midtown West. He orders Kia parts for the oil change. Rotates the tires. Inspects the belts, brakes, etc.

I tried to work with Northstar Kia on a warranty issue (flaking trim on NFE) and was totally blown off. Denied ever hearing of the issue. Multiple follow up phone calls never returned. The dealer I bought the car from (Pennsylvania) knew about it and was honest and direct. They sell several brands and know how to service customers. Total night and day.

Yeah that sounds about right.
How did you end up handling the NF flaking issue?

The dealer in PA will replace it, but Kia hasn’t really changed the finish to really fix the problem. The dealer suggested waiting a bit to see if Kia really fixes the underlying problem and then replacing the trim.

Eek. Yeah that stinks.
