• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Does anyone have or have they added the skid plate? Can you see it and is it worth the investment? Mostly for aesthetics and not a whole lot of off-roading is my intent.

You really can't see it unless you crouch down. There's no more coverage than the existing skid plate. If you only want it for looks, it's not worth it. This is mine and you can't really see it and I don't even have the front black air dam.

Thanks for posting. Are you saying there is already a metal skid plate on stock models that this one merely replaces? Does it not offer any additional function? Also, what size and brand of tires do you have in that shot? I love that beefy look

The OEM is plastic; the metal one is a replacement that covers everything the plastic one covers.

There's no skid plate from the factory, just a plastic cover for aero. The aluminum skid plate goes over the plastic one. My tires and wheels are listed in my signature, but be careful if you go with 17in rims, there are clearance issues with some brands.

Thanks. I'm going to use the 18" OEM wheels
