  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Hey folks,

Happy to have joined this great group and learn more about my upcoming Telluride. We just put in an order for an SXP and hopefully will have it delivered in August. The market up here is crazy with dealer mark-ups averaging about $9k. I found a dealer in the state offering the least amount of mark-up and great service and decided to order from them.

I'm so happy to have found the Telluride. Honestly, I'm a little surprised to say "I am buying a Kia". Ya see, I'm old and I remember when Kia came in to the market here and how horrible they were. But looking at them today, WOW! Best value in the market from what I can tell. The only thing not known in longevity for this vehicle, but with the great warranty its worth a chance. My wife and I currently drive a Ford Expedition and VW Touareg and have two big boys and a dog and all our stuff. We didn't want to buy another giant SUV, but we did look at the Sequoia very seriously due to Toyota reliability. In the end, the Sequoia was very old tech, reliable but very thirsty engine and we couldn't justify spending $60k on a used Sequoia and only keep it 5 years until the boys left the house. Just about out of options I stumbled on the Telluride.

On paper and in videos, it looked promising. I then managed to find one on a dealer lot here and took the family to check it out. Instantly everyone "fit" with enough room to grow and it drove well (enough) and it looked like something we could keep for 5-10 years. So we decided to pull the trigger and order one.

Now that we've ordered, I'm spending time learning more about the vehicle and found this great site to learn from you all. Thank you. I'm planning on a roof rack to carry my rooftop box and I'm considering a set of 18" wheels with more aggressive tires as I do spend time off the paved path as well as winter in the mountains. Other than that, I think the Telluride has everything I could want in a vehicle.

Anyways, I hope you all have a great day!

John
