In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. Hi there!

I’m a new user so please forgive me for any mistakes.

I’m looking to buy a telluride at MSRP and I have been unsuccessful in getting one at the Anchorage dealership. They are charging $9,995 above MSRP and I’m not that desperate to buy it at that price.

I don’t plan on buying one until Fall time so I’d probably get a 2022 when it does eventually come out. Does any have tips they could give me on getting one for the cheapest possible price?

Car Pros Kia in Washington have a markup of almost $2,000 and then another $1,200 or so for delivery, which is better than $9,995, but I wonder if there are any other viable methods I could use to get it as cheapest as possible.

Thanks

I would suggest ordering from a dealer in the lower 48 but shipping might negate this idea. You would have to research shipping costs if you wanted to go this route. On the flip side; buying from Washington state might be your best option unless someone else here has any other ideas

I have looked at 3 companies that do ship vehicles but their prices are up to $4000. I think my best option at this time is to go through Car Pros Kia as well. I was hoping for something cheaper :(

Considering everything in Alaska is already more expensive and add to it you are trying to buy a vehicle with a high demand, doubt you are going to find a cheaper alternative. George Gee has a couple dealerships in WA/ID with some decent feedback so far on this forum. Maybe you can convince a friend to tag along for the roadtrip back.

yes it is true and constantly renewed. But you can contact cbsa ,and try to get permission from them. since after the purchase the car is your property. You can drive home to Alaska by driving your car- transit

Going to Canada will not be an option for me so buying within the states or even going to another state and driving back could work if it’s a relatively short distance. Also if I’m not lazy 😂

I checked their website but I see that they charge 4K above MSRP

I didn't look at their website, but I also wouldn't rely solely on that information. Best to call and speak with someone to confirm pricing. I've seen some instances where a car sold off the lot is marked up but if you order they will sell it at MSRP.

To help streamline which dealers to look into, I'd recommend searching on google maps for Kia dealers that fall within the distance you are willing to drive back to Alaska. After you have that list, search for them on here to see what other users have said and if they are a good or bad dealer. It can be time consuming, but I guess that's the price to pay to save 10k.

Thanks for the advice. I will do that so I can cross reference the places with the reviews and go from there.

Car Pros Kia is “reasonable” with the $2k above MSRP and since they can do the shipping without any major investment of cash on my part, it is tempting to go with them at this time. I’ll see what other options there are though to save the most if I’m not willing to travel and drive the car back here.
