• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Aftermarket badge for Telluride?

Telluride lettering is bolted on, on the rear. So taking the name off the back wouldn’t work. Prob did that on purpose
Any pics of this? What about the hood lettering? Any confirmation on how they are attached?

Can anyone say with certainty how the Telluride letters are attached to the hood and the rear lift gate? I'm looking to have them removed (professionally) painted in black, and re-installed.

I saw somebody actually had their front letters missing when they bought their Telluride. I can say with near certainty that they're simple stick-on emblems - because who'd go through the trouble of unbolting each letter and doing the body work and paint to cover the holes before the vehicle was even shipped to the dealer. That would be one heck of an accident.

I agree.

Just did mine yesterday...Very easy...took about 35 minutes. Only used a heat gun on the rear badge. I did not put the steering wheel one on. The sales guy said that if the airbags deploy with the new badge it will hit you in the face at a very high rate. The KIA badge is made not to hit you.

If you do an overlay on the steering wheel, what is the difference?

Looks awesome! Did you keep the frame that snaps in and holds the emblem on the front or remove it?

Here is the badge that I would really like to see for the Telluride. These are currently on Amazon for the Optima.

This exists on Ebay... see link below. They also have many other options, including an all-black version without the carbon.

The steering wheel overlay should stick to the kia logo and act the same way it would have if it weren't overlaid. If you REPLACE (instead of overlaying) the kia logo, I think that could be an issue. I'll just overlay like most people do.

Yeah same here, I wouldn't think about actually removing the steering wheel badge!

Wow! Good point. I was planning on doing the overlay on the steering wheel but never considered air bag deployment.

Has anyone removed their badges on a previous car and then sold the car? Any issues? I assume the dealer could re-install the original badges without issue?

What other tools did you use besides a heat gun?

If you REPLACE (meaning removing your kia logo and then replacing it with the k piece) it can fly off when the airbag deploys. If you OVERLAY it like most people do, it will stick to the kia logo that DOESN'T fly off. It's safe if you don't REMOVE the kia logo first. The pieces are overlays and intended to stick on top of the kia logo.

I'll be getting these black edition emblems in the forum store over the next couple of weeks. I'm waiting for my shipment from South Korea...
