Where’s my Apple Play

Normally I don’t plug in my phone but today I did and Apple Play didn’t automatically engage. Also, it’s no longer a “touchable” option on my screen. I can see the icon but nothing happens when I touch it. Is this just a dumb fix or did something happen on KIA’s end? (I haven’t done any software updates).

A few things you can check:

- Have you tried a different cable?
- Are there any pending updates on your iPhone? If you have any...I suggest updating to the latest iOS.

I've noticed a few times that if my iphone is locked, then car play does not automatically engage when I plug in. I unlock the phone, and the icon lights up and then I'm good.

Try going (on your phone) to settings > general > CarPlay > (your car)

Make sure the toggle for “allow CarPlay while locked” is turned on.
