• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... So I’m getting a telluride and want to get a super glass like shine as soon as it’s dropped off. I know glass coating is newer than ceramic but more durable and more glossy. I’m in Orlando and have no idea how to find “a guy” that you drop that kind of money and get solid work. Thoughts on both?

If you get the right installer and coating - ceramic can be very glossy.

This is after a wash yesterday - coating applied 7 months ago.

That does look amazing and I actually read a few of your posts when I was going over previous posts on this topic. But there again is the rub, I have no idea how to find “right installer” I firmly believe you get what you pay for, but premium price doesn’t guarantee the “right installer” I live in central Florida and I know there’s got to one around here with the high end cars we have here in abundance but....🤷🏻

I would look at these guys. They did mine and did a great job. Warehouse wraps at the same location did my chrome delete and wrapped my roof.

Hope this helps

Got any pictures?

The level of shine/gloss is gonna be dependent on the gloss of the paint just before the coating is applied. The coating itself will not really add any additional gloss.

So, if the vehicle is shiny to start and/or the installer did a good job at the paint correction/preparation and application of the coating, it should come out looking glossy

I used a referral and then followed them on social media for a few weeks to see their quality of work.

Agreed a high price doesn't guarantee premium work.

What product did they use? I looked up the guys knightsfan2020 suggested but the cars looked nice but to me nothing better in gloss than a good wax and
polish but I don’t have a trained eye by any means. I’m also skeptical when I see those kind of lights (red flag) if you have special lighting. I mean every car looks phenomenal under those kind of lights. Not trying to be a jerk. Here’s a few photos tell me if I’m being paranoid...

Those are the lights they work under and yes they enhance the shine. The bottom line ceramic coatings are about care free protection and longer durability. I don't think they shine anymore than a good wax job. A shiny clean car with a lot less work. They work on supercars and I've seen a lot of their work first hand. Good luck with your new ride.

Don’t get me wrong knight, I appreciate the recommendation and don’t mean to sound like a douche. I get what you’re saying but to me that prep work beforehand is just as important as the ceramic application. Even though this will be going from dealer to detailer I’m sure they’re will be paint correction. If you look at jersey’s picture from an application from awhile ago it stands out quite a bit in shine. 🤷🏻

This is what mine looks like a year later. This is in the garage with no lights. I got a 1 year coating. I use TLC Amp every couple months to keep up the shine. Still seems to look good and repel water. Telly Side view .webp
