How to Order a 22

Hi all, I am relatively new here and am interested in ordering a 22 SX-P from my local dealership. I saw the post "New update on 2022's as of 05-21" and was wondering what the best way to go about this would be. Would it be a good idea to order before the information is released to the general public to minimize the wait? I'm guessing there will be a rush on ordering the new models once that information goes out to the public. How does the ordering process work when there are no finalized details available yet on the 22s? Do I base my order on the 21 information and then I can go back to the dealer to update my order once the 22 details and pricing are released? Also, I understand it may vary by the dealer but how does payment work in general when you place the order? Do you go through the whole payment process or is it just a deposit until the vehicle is delivered to the dealership? Thanks for your help!

When you order a vehicle, they only take a deposit. They won't even quote you any final price or financing (except promising MSRP), as things will change. So ordering a 22 without an announced MSRP isn't all too different from if you had ordered a 21 a few months ago.

Make sure your deposit is REFUNDABLE! Do not order from a dealer who won't refund your deepest. Most of us paid $500 - $1000 refundable deposit and then waited for our cars. Search the forum using search feature above. The whole ordering process has been explained before. Just start reading the threads. No chance to order a 2021, but a dealer may get one in you want, that isn't spoken for. Expect a price increase though for 2022. We got one from 2020 to the 2021 model year change.

The dealer I’m using said that their system purged all of their unfulfilled 2021 Telluride orders, and that they will manually resubmit all 165 orders (in the same order as before) once the system reopens. I would imagine at that point they will begin to accept new orders.

If I was the OP, I would definitely get in touch with a good sales person who will get your order in as soon as they can.

As a point of reference, this particular dealer tends to receive about 20 to 25 telluride’s per month.
