• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... First time pulling a trailer with my Telly today. Exciting! This was one of many reasons why I chose this vehicle. I was curious to see how it went...

I towed an empty two-place aluminum snowmobile trailer with a snow/debris guard on the front.

The back-up camera is suweeeet! It took me a number of times getting in-and-out of the car to verify the distance as I approached the hitch (really really didn't want to put that trailer tongue into the fresh clean bumper), but now that I know what the inches look like on the camera I'm loving it! I haven't had a tow vehicle with a rear camera yet - major upgrade!

Blind-spot monitoring was fubar'd. I think the debris guard is responsible, but the Telly definitely was getting confused with the blind-spot monitoring system -- it was going off on each side every time I turned in direction of the side and gave the camera a chance to catch the trailer. Mirror light would illimuinate frequently. And if I was in any sort of curve on the road and wanted to change lanes, when I signaled I'd get all the warnings with the blind spot mechanism. I'm guessing this was due to the snow/debris guard, which sits at the very front of the trailer and sticks up to almost mirror height. Curious if others have experienced this. Next time, I'll disable these warning systems for towing this trailer.

Backing up and park assist warnings. It took me a bit to figure out the right button to push at the right time to turn off the rear bumper warning so it wouldn't constantly beep beep at me. It's not in the dash settings. You have to turn off the Park Assist at the center console after you put it in to reverse. Voila

The towing driving experience. Jury still out on this one for me. My experience towing this particular trailer was that the trailer seemed to be buffeting and the transfer of this into the tongue and subsequently to the vehicle, made the whole vehicle shimmer-shake slightly. But enough to enduce a rattle in the headliner right behind the sunroof above the driver's head and in front of the rear passenger controls. (I believe I've seen mention of this rattling issue in another thread). I was admittedly towing a trailer that I haven't towed empty like this in a loooooong time, and can't remember how it towed with my Odyssey. I suspect it will tow differently loaded. And also I noticed that the debris guard was missing a cotter pin to hold down one side of the rear-lower piece to the trailer, so possible this was causing extra buffeting. I'm gong to reserve judgement on this until I sort out the trailer fully and have more drive-time with it.

I help this was useful for anyone searching.

Curious for other's experiences with towing!

Once you have some significant tongue weight it will smooth out nicely. I had the same issues with my enclosed trailer while unloaded.
