I seriously can not find any good lights

You really don't want an honest answer. The honest answer is no, to change from standard to led would require changing housing units. the best you can do is get an LED with the output and shape the same as the original lights. This would only output the same as the oem lights. You would get less heat and less power consumption, but no real change in lights output.

If you increase the light output, you will create excessive glare and risk tickets and blinding on coming traffic. It is really impossible to increase the output with the oem housing. I understand that everyone claims they do, but they just ignore the flashing of oncoming lights and will never get their vehicle inspected by the department of motor vehicles, because they know they will fail.

Bottom line, you can install upgrades, but only if they closely match light output you already have. Any brighter, you will need to change the projectors too.

The bulbs and housings are high quality and DOT certified from the factory. Trying to find a matching bulb for a brand new vehicle will be tough and you will end up with shorter throw of the beam, dark spots, and the potential to blind oncoming traffic even if you could. LEDs also create tremendous amounts of heat at the ballast, instead of at the bulb, which can melt the housing if there isn’t large enough heat sinks (which also get very hot). You might be better off getting some aftermarket LED fog light installed if you’re just going for looks. Just my 2 cents.

Not quite the reach or beam width of the LED. it was a primary reason the EX wasn’t an option for me. I liked everything else about it.

I haven’t actually driven at night yet and I’ve owned mine for a month (not sure how that’s even possible but here we are). Judging by the Sorento and others in Kias lineup the IIHS rates the LEDs Good (highest rating) and the halogens as Poor (lowest rating). I’m coming from factory Xenon projectors that are considered some of the best so we’ll see...or not. Get it???

Agree- they aren’t necessarily bad on the EX at all, just enough of a difference for a night vision challenged driver in my household.

if your trying to match the output of the led (light cannons) of the SX you will never match them. The housing and projector was matched and designed around the LEDs. The lights on the SX are impressive and they alone justify the SX for me, everything else is a bonus.

Funny, I'm coming from a Cherokee as well. Mine has the HID Xenon bulbs. When one went out, they wanted to charge me $252 for the bulb without install. I found similar bulbs for $175 then ended up getting 2 bulbs on Amazon made by Morimoto for $40 each. At the time, Jeeps didn't have LED as an option. It was Halogen or Xenon. Halogen may not look as good but at least they won't try to charge you hundreds of dollars for that replacement. Can't wait for my SX to come in with the LED lighting.

Skippy. Just installed these today. Question, the fan area feels awfully hot. Any concern of heat build up especially with the cap so close to the fan area. Stangely, the bulb itself is super cool, as is the beam, its just the heat radiating from the fan.
