• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
    If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Hi all,

I had placed an order for an EX Gravity Gray w/ Gray interior and the Nightfall package, but the order got messed up and was entered in a black interior. I'm now needing to place a new order and I got to thinking about the cost. An EX w/ Nightfall and the Premium Package runs for $44,105 per Kia's build tool. An SX w/ Nightfall (no Prestige pack added) runs for $47,210 per Kia's build tool. From a base price, the difference is just over $3K. So for those of you that were fighting with this decision as well, what was the main factor in your decision?

For what it's worth, I'm personally not into the suede light headliner that's part of the SX-P. The things I do like that's part of the SX would be
  • Seat position memory
  • Blind-spot view monitor
Not sure what else would be big selling points so I'm looking for feedback.

I have an sx and the seat memory is a thing I never use in most of my cars since I am usually the only driver. Blind spot warning I generally don't need because I always visually check. So I would say either is on my end of the list as far as other options.

Thanks for the reply. My wife and I drive pretty equally so we're regularly moving the seats back and forth. Not a huge deal though as it's a pretty minor adjustment. To your point about visually checking your blind spot, I always visually check myself as well and our last car had the mirror indicator which was more than enough of a secondary cue that I certainly don't need the BVM feature either. So what were the options that drove you to an SX?

I just had to stop somewhere. If I'm spending $43k on an EX-P, what's another 3k for SX? Ok, I'm getting SX, what's another 2500 for prestige.

I kinda didn't want the extra glass and some of the extra electronics. More points of failure. I do like the sx cluster and the memory seats though. Getting ebony black, I think the black wheels were too much for me too. I like them with other colors.

I was considering ordering a 22 since the trade values are so high but I figured I'd probably just want to order another EX-P but with Nightfall so I just decided to work on customizing the one I have.

Pretty easy to determine what drove my wife to the SX. I told her we were ordering the car and going to keep it for a while, so pick what you want. Bad move on my part. Ended up with an SX premier with nightfall. Lol.

Would you consider an SX w/out Nightfall? All SX come with black wheels, and the 2022 grill is mostly black now. The different in price between an EX-P w/ Nightfall and an SX AWD (no Nightfall or Prestige) is only $1,710 and you get:

* Harmon Kardon sound system
* LED fog lights
* Extendable driver thigh support
* Memory seats
* 7” cluster display w/ Blindspot View Monitor
* Front parking sensor
* Ambient lighting
* High beam assist
* 360 degree cameras
* Dual sunroofs

Tbh, I'd have to see it and hadn't considered this. Part of the interest in Nightfall is also in the badging, the window surrounds, door handle colors, etc. I know there are tutorials for blacking out the badging for cheap, but I can't honestly speak to how I would feel about those other aspects not being blacked out.

Other have had those items blacked out with vinyl wrap for a few hundred bucks

Dual sunroofs...everything kind of just fell right in...

2022 nightfall does not come with black badges...they are the same as on a non-nightfall vehicle. So you'll have to black them out either way.

The only things you get is a different grille, wheels, skid plates front and rear, window surround, lower door molding, and front air intakes in black vs. satin chrome.

I came from owning Audi and BMW and the KIA tech and options seemed like such a great bargain I wanted it all so the SXP handled everything unlike the German cars which have confusing tiers of items that may or may not come with that certain package.

I ordered an SX AWD because it will be a family vehicle that we both drive so memory seats were important. This is also the largest vehicle we have ever owned so the extra cameras and parking sensors seemed worth it. The price difference between and EX with premium package and an SX was close enough for me to justify the jump.

I have the Sx Prestige. For me it was along time since I have gotten something for me and my husband said to get what I want. I love the memory seating cause my husband is 6'7. So that was a good feature for us. Then I loved the headliner. But I love it. Then getting the prestige package was a few more thousand bucks. It was not a deal breaker. It's just what you are wanting to pay for.

I just wanted ventilated seats so EX was enough for me. But as long as I was getting a white EX I might as well make it a 🐼

Yup, I'm aware of the new badge, but I do like the black lettering of "TELLURIDE" and see that it's about $120 to buy replacement letters. I think after everyone's comments and looking at price, I'm going to put in an order for an SX w/ Nightfall but not Prestige. Thanks for the input everybody. Hope it doesn't take 6+ months to get it.

The black SX rims rule.

Also, HUD, heated steering wheel, ventilated/heated 2nd row, power inverter (household plug) and Dune Brown w/ Prestige Package.

Did I mention the rims? 😋
